Sharp Aquos LC-70LE660U single horizontal line

Hi folks, hope someone can give me some insight before calling a repair shop. My 17 month old (read: out of warranty) 70" Sharp has a single thin horizontal line about 12" up from the bottom. Very faint at the left edge, gradually darkening to the darkest spot about 2/3 across then growing faint again at the right edge. Called Sharp and they tried the "hold volume up and channel down while plugging TV in" which did absolutely nothing. Sorry Sir, call a repair shop. At the same time and possibly related, the HDMI 3 input became intermittent and then stopped recognizing any signal at all. Really looking for a home fix if possible. Edit: Same line on all inputs.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Take a look at what Budwich says and there's plenty of information on this site (Badcaps) as he says on removing side tabs if it comes to that.

UPDATE...Now TV powers on, "No Signal" flashes momentarily on the screen and then black. Power light remains constant but no video, no menu. Tried reset using input and vol - while plugging in but nothing. Been through many threads but can't find anything definitive. Not even close to understanding most of the jargon on here just wondering if I should even take the set to a shop or recycling.

Repair shop called...it's the panel. Over $2000 to fix a TV that cost $1999. And the battle with Sharp begins...

For the line? For the line, I'm afraid it's probably a faulty panel, even more so if there's a blob on the screen... At the least it's a tab bond issue...

The no-signal message is probably the HDMI port or the main board...

well... hopefully you have good luck with the battle with sharp. IF NOT, the tv can still be saved. there are a number of threads on the forum on how to go about saving the set for "free". Its an undetaking that requires DIY effort as NO repair facility would do it as it removes "design aspects" of the TV BUT it does bring it back to "full operation" such that you will likely not notice any problems. Anyways, if you don't get satisfaction from sharp, search thru the forum and see if you want to do the DIY stuff.

Re: Sharp Aquos LC-70LE660U single horizontal line

Before ripping out the Y-TABS on the side of the screen.
Check these Vdc on the Source PCB or the X-TAB on the bottom of the screen.
                Voff, CPV1, Von, VSTV1, STV, CPV2.
Check and see if these voltages appear on the Y-TAB on the side of the screen.
If not then there is a circuit break in the screen.
Solder a thin insulated wire from the point on the X-TAB to the missing point on the Y-TAB.
You may have to repeat this process for more than one of the above named points. This will sort your problem out.

Sharp Aquos LC-70C6400U Half Screen Dark
                  by scubacamper
I found another post on this site the other day which has been very helpful in troubleshooting this issue I am having with my tv. The left half of the screen is dark, and the other half is VERY slow to generate it's image - and it only generates part of its image at that.
Based on this yt video, I have narrowed it down to an issue (short?) on the left side of the display, somewhere in the system of ribbon cables.
when I remove the bezel and the rear cover, I can get the image to display correctly by manipulating the ribbon cables on the left side which connects the left lower display...

Sharp Aquos Lc-80LE757U flashing Sharp on screen when plugged in
                  by sefoster
I have a Sharp Aquos LC-80LE757U that randomly made a loud popping noise when when watching TV one day. We found that the fuse blew and the thermistor. We ended up replacing the entire power supply board and have also replaced the TCON board. Now as soon as I plug the TV in it lights up and has the Sharp logo flashing on and off of the screen. If I unplug the ribbon cable from the TCON board to the main board I get the 2 long 5 short error code. Any ideas on where to go from here? We've tried resetting it but nothing has worked. If we plug it in and let it cycle through the flashing of the Sharp...

Sharp Aquos LC-40UG7252E LCD TV burn in?
                  by jonah1024
                  Hello!

I'm a few days old into this TV screens repair universe so please bear with me.

Recently, and all of a sudden my 40” 4K Sharp Aquos LCD TV turned on with colors all smudged in some places on the screen that remain like that even without any kind of video source. I do have image but the colors are smudged/tinted/ washed out in patches as per defects. This to me looks similar to burn in but I’m shore this is not an OLED.

                  - I did the classic unplug and hold power button to discharge the caps but it didn't help.
                  - I did a factory reset as well...

                  Hi community,

I will describe my problem with a TV in those short following terms to be the most precise :

                  What i have :

                  power board DPS-162KP-1
                  main logic board QPWBXF733WJN2

                  symptoms :
white led light logo at startup,
after 2 minutes, blinking 3 times a row, repeating
no backlight (and apparently no picture, checked panel with flashlight)
                  no startup sound

                  powerboard investigations :

                  1-2 PNL : 0v
