Can this white spot be caused by a bad T-Con? KDL-46W*

I don't have my hand on this TV, just the picture attached. The T-Con in question is 1-857-131-11 where the TV is either KDL-46W4100, KDL-46W4150 or KDL-46WL140

Can a bad T-Con cause that white spot in the upper left corner? Sorry about the picture quality, that is the best I have.

I've had a samsung that had a washed out center,pretty much what this looks like but then in the center of the screen with both sides looking almost normal.
I bought it out of curiosity and it was indeed the t-con at fault.
Now this one being in a corner like that,I don't know. If tv is cheap and t-con is cheap maybe worth the gamble? 46" lcd like that here in Canada not worth much anymore.
Helping a friend on this one? Looks pretty technical in the background....

This one is a gamble. Could be the diffuser sheets inside the panel coming loose at that location - wouldn't know until you took the panel apart imo. What's it look like with just a black screen ?

that isn't a tcon failure to me. Looks like something is going on with the panel itself.

Not a T-CON problem. I would strip down the Panel and see how the backlights are working. Could be a LED going bad.....or as said before just a bad Panel.
