The Control-Board is obviously detecting a fault issue--either with the SC or the SS and this is causing the set to shut down.

--Suggest you go through the Service-Manual with regards dead set/no picture issues.

Thanks again. Unfortunately the service guide under troubleshooting has this:

      "For detailed troubleshooting information,
refer to the "Service Hints/Technical Guide" document posted on the TSN website.
For information about this model, type TC-P2012 in the model box under "Direct Search"."

Without proper troubleshooting methods I'm lost on this.

I was able to find a trouble shooting guide for a similar model and based on there troubleshooting for this issue it looks like it is the K board that is bad! - its the tiny board where the standby light

I wont believe it until I actually have the board and the TV is working but im optimistic

Thanks everyone for all the advice - Im a total noob at this so i appreciate the help.

I will post again after i receive/install the new K board

        Thanks!

          Re: Panasonic TC-P55ST50

My name is Mike David. I have a Panasonic TC – P55ST50 plasma television that was in a lightning storm here in Tulsa Oklahoma. I have taken the back panel off and I'm trying to identify which circuit board is fried. The TV was plugged in through an HDMI cable to a receiver which also was fried in the electrical storm. When I plug the television in absolutely nothing happens there is no lights no clicking no noise. Nor when I push the power button does anything happen. My questions are this

1: Power supply TXNP2SSUEP when the power cord is plugged in this board makes a slight buzzing noise that sounds appropriate to me when you put your ear up to the board. I have tested with an electrical tester the two fuses on the board and they also are giving me a good reports. This has framed believe that the Electric shock came in through the HDMI cable not the power cable. Is there another way to test this board? If this board is working properly would I hear any clicking or other noise when you push the power button?

2: The main board we're all HDMI plugs come in. TNPH0989 is there a way to test this board? Where can I find this board? All the parts stores I have searched show that it is out of stock.

Based on the lightning storm frying the device that was plugged in through HDMI to the television am I correct in assuming that this is the board that is fried? Any thoughts or ideas would be so helpful. Thank you very much

I think it's safe to predict the A-board will be damaged but I'd also have a check around the Pboard for anything shorted, transistors diodes etc.

Just to share a very recent 2013 ET60 LED LCD taken out by a storm over here. The P board was shorted in the 15V arae, diode had died, rest was ok. Fix that and the Front LED came back, TV turned on and lasted 1.5 days. First the HDMI ports all failed and withing 10mins of that I went to do a factory self test and it locked up then shut down, front stdby light gone.

Aboard obviously had been traumatised and retired. Lucky I had one with a faulty panel and I was in business again.

I was surprised the a board was ok in the first place, good to see it did not let me down and died in the end. LOL.

I am having trouble with the main board (I guess) and just found this document which might be useful in your case or else. My model is similar and all HDMI, SD card, Ethenet, Wireless adapter, and so on on the board just don't work. I wish I would have similar support as you had here from experts to troubleshoot my issue. I am not quite sure it needs to be send for repair or replace any part.

                Re: Panasonic TC-P55ST50

Hello, I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that I'd love to salvage. A recent storm resulted in the HDMI ports (all 3) not working. The TV powers up and I can access the menus. I tried the antenna connector, and that works fine - it picks up all the local channels. I don't have a way to check the component/composite port. I found a replacement A-board online, but when I installed it, the HDMI ports still don't work, so either the place I bought it from didn't test it and got the board from a TV that also had fried HDMI ports, or there is something else wrong with the TV besides the A-board.
Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks! Ed

try unhook all hdmi cables, turn off tv, unplug tv from power, press and hold power button for 30 seconds, plug hdmi cable back in, plug tv power back in and try it.

Thanks for the reply. I tried your suggestion, several times, in the order you specified, but unfortunately, it didn't work. Still getting "no signal" on all HDMI inputs. If anyone else has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it. Thanks, Ed

                      Re: Panasonic TC-P55ST50

can try going to TV Menu then Setup and run First Time Setup to see if it enables the HDMI inputs, no joy then try a firmware update, storm may have fried the chip, otherwise prolly need a new chip or new A board.

you can try to label the HDMI inputs in setup menu of TV to enable them but doesn't seem to be the problem in this case.
