    IPB540V2 bad psu

Any thoughts on what this device was, the psu is from a bush 40inch set the board being IPB540V2. I am unable to locate a schematic for this supply, if any one has one that would be useful to me.

The pcb legend indicates this to be a restive device and it is in series with the 240 volt line incomer to the board.

    Thanking you in advance

That is NTC for inrush current limiter. It can fail by itself due to heating and cooling cylce but from your pictures it looks like the load which is connected on the output side of the NTC may be shorted out.
You need to upload the straight shot pictures for the top and the bottom side of the board.
Typical value for the NTC is NTC-5D15 (5ohms at 25c, 15mm Dia.)
You need to check out the bridge rectifier, MOSFET, etc.

Thank-you, I have been through the hot side of the supply and find surprisingly neither the bridge rectifier or mosfet(s) and or surrounding devices shorted.
