samsung UE40ES5500W from red to green to blue....

this tv starts up without the samsung logo
and just turns from red ,to green to blue to blank to black
over en over again!!!
sound is ok,
t-con board?????

Enter the service menu and factory reset the Tv. Tcon is not the issue as its able to write the RGB images to the Lcd screen it will be the mainboard.

Most likely you have a corrupt eeprom. Doubt you'll be able to enter the service mode or do anything else with it.

I'm unsure, but I've seen some UNxxES TVs in the same state. They are stuck in some type of test mode.

You cannot access anything when the TV is in this state from my experience with similar ones. It's stuck in a loop of the test colors and will not respond to the remote or buttons.

I don't believe its your Tcon if the panel is clearly looping through the test colours. It's highly likely your EEprom is corrupted as indicated by Aaronwt6 in post #3

yes i agree i doubt its a t con issue certainly sounds a mainboard fault too me like its in a test mode.

What is the LCD panel model number? The spec. sheet of the panel may tell you which pin of the T-CON board is used for setting up the test mode then you can see if that pin is stuck in test mode or not.
