an embarassing question (LG, 47LB5900 I think)

I have a request. Kinda ashamed to even have to ask this. I was helping a friend repair bad LED strips on this set. We were successful. FOUR bad LED..on 4 different strips. BUT...upon re-assembly..SOMETHING went wrong. This has NEVER happeend to me before--and I have successfully done a number of BL repairs, both LED and CCFL.

We put all of the successive layers back behind the panel...checked the BL.. BEFORE re-assembly...and NOW.. you can EASILY see a BUNCH of the individual led's as "bright spots. with the panel on ..it DOES show BADLY.

We had the sheets lying on each other--in the order they came off...I THOUGHT at least. First...the "frosted" sheet went over thre BL. Then the "prismatic sheet" then the other somewhat frosted sheet, but darker than the first. FInally, the plastic diffuser..over which went the panel.

Is this RIGHT_-or is it BACKWARDS ? I have NEVER had this problem before..when i did this MYSELF. I ALWAYS sat the sheets on top of each other in the order they came off. THIS time...I THINK they may have gotten " mixed up"...they fell and may have gotten mixed up... Does the diffuser go lAST.or FIRST...over the BL or is it right behind the PANEL?

I messed up..now..I have to figure out where. Set is FIXED...just has the OBVIOUS "bright spot" issue..

Are the bright leds you can clearly see the replacement leds?

No...you can see most all of the LED's..depending on the ANGLE..at which you look at the set.. Now..a LOT of those fragile lenses DID pop off, just TOUCHING them causes that...but we successfully glued them back on. If you look from the top, you can see most of the leds on top, from the bottom, the reverse.. The replacement leds look a bit DIMMER In fact...than the old ones do..not much but a bit. Dimming the BL HELPS...but even at 20% ..you can STILL see them through the panel !!

The only thing I can think of is to remove the LCD panel again and reverse the order of the thin sheets (in the event that his may of happened) then bring up the backlight to see if the screen is correctly diffused before re-assembling the frame and LCD panel.

        Edit.
I have to admit that I have been guilty of this error to.

Sounds like you didnt glue the lenses on properly at the right angle to me.

I concur.. I've done this several times, luckily they were give away or garage TVs. if you have several that fall off it's hard to get them to match back up like they were before..

Diffuser goes over the back light, frosted on top, polarized sheet next, then frosted again.

Finger prints/greasy fingers can cause some bad effects on the display also.

I have the white spot issue where the plastic reflector has fallen off of the LED. Since my TV is out of warranty, I disassembled it to glue the fallen reflectors back into place. Unfortunately, I did not note what order and orientation the hard plastic and 3 flexible diffuser sheets go in for re-assembly. What is the correct order? I know the hard plastic goes first, but does the smooth side or the textured side face the reflectors? After that, which sheets go in which order? Thank you!
