    Emerson LF461EM4 Dead set

I get no standby LED. I notice that when I test the voltages, I got 160V across the main filter caps. I found that when I remove the main board connector I got following DC voltages.

    ALL 3.3V -3.3V
    P-ON_h2- 0V
    P-ON +21V-11.54
    Amp +13V-6.6V

I lose them when I install the main board ribbon cable. Is this a main board issue? Can I force the p/s on to get voltages or does this one not need a force on. I have never worked on an Emerson Tv before.

See link below for the parts for this tv.

    UPDATE!!!

I tested the P-ON+21V line on the main board and it measures 27.6 ohms. On the power board, it reads very high resistance. I guess there is a short somewhere on the main board.

      ALL 3.3V -3.3V
      P-ON_h2- 0V
      P-ON +21V-11.54
      Amp +13V-6.6V

Those two Voltages are correct when TV is in standby mode, when P-ON H2 is high then those Voltages will go up as noted.

Thanks Budm. 3 parts are shorted on the main board. The EEPROM and 2 other ICs. SJ has a repair kit for it. I also ordered the kit for the p/s just in case. They are common p/s parts so I could use them anyways.

            Hello All,
I have this same TV. When plugged in, no standby light and set will not power on. There is a pulsed squeal that I think is coming from the T601 transformer. The squeal pitch changes after a few minutes of having the set plugged in.

            Voltages at the PS connector:
            Pin 8: 3.28V
            Pins 15-18: 6.3V
            Pins 20-23: 11.5V

Same connector at the main board:
            Pin 8: 0.9V
            Pins 15-18: 1.5V
            Pins 20-23 -4.1mV~500mV

            Any help is greatly appreciated...

Also check the four SMD caps on back side of mainboard under the audio amp IC.. one of these shortred on me loading down 3.3v.

Audio amp IC is under the metal shield.

                  Re: Emerson LF461EM4 Dead set

I picked up this tv dead with chirping noise. Unplugging power to main cable got rid of chirping. Thanks to garryls tv was shorted c3214 smd cap upper left corner of main next to black 330 coil. Cleared the short but still dead. Further checking and found 5.4vdc on 3.3vdc. Noticed someone had replaced 3.3 reg. to 5vdc. Suspected corrupted eeprom. Tv powered up and in short testing is working. Only thing concerns me is slight buzzing from power supply. Similar to buzzing from plasma. Never noticed any buzzing from lcd's. Guess I will have to do some long term testing before I get rid of it.
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

Help Needed: Samsung UE55MU8000 Dead - Possible Main Board Issue
                    by Asraf Atb
                    Hi everyone,

Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.

Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.

I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....

                    Hey all,

Been lurking for a while to find a solution to my dead A1990 (board # 820-01326-05, I can't find a bv for that one so I've been using 820-01041 for reference) but have come up empty handed. I haven't really done any diagnostics on electronics like this though so I'm sure I've probably missed something. I've soldered and diagnosed keyboards and cars but this is definitely new to me.

                    My overview thus far:

After browsing the web one night, I closed the lid while it was on the charger, left it on my desk overnight and it was dead in the morning. No response...

Is it possible to upgrade from a Vestel 17MB97 main board to a 17MB110 Main board?
                    by cheeky2
I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

Sceptre U550CV-UMR 4K LED, Bad Caps on Main Power Board?
                    by Dani_2024
Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.
Main power board model: TP.MS3683.PC821 T-Con board: N4TP546UHDPU2L_BO

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...

Thompson 32HS3033 dead. All voltages OK but one for buttons
                    by edugimeno
                    Hi!
I have this TV that won't light up the stby led, won't turn on, etc
Opened it and found all expected voltages in the backside test pads BUT one. There are a lot of +5V sources but one of them, the one that's driven to the backpanel keys module.
There are lots of other +5v points working but this one specifically is dead.
I took a close picture of the area where this voltage is generated
There is a LD05 missing but this may be from factory? Should I short it?
All the thru-board capacitors have a steady and valid voltage on them
                    The small SMD...
