Vizio P50HDM power on but no picture

Hi all! I have a Vizio P50HDM. I can turn the power on and the power will stay on, but there is no picture. I've taken some voltage measurements with power plugged in but TV off, and then with TV turned on. Please help me diagnose!

I know from reading the other threads IPMs are the usual cause. Is that the case here based on these readings? Or do I just have bad panel? or?? Let me know what seems out of the ordinary and your thoughts!

    Thanks,

On the top right side of the mainboard there are 3 white smd fuses. Check if one is open.

            Thanks for the reply!

F2, F3, and F4 all check OK for continuity.

Do the voltage readings I posted in my original post look correct? Any of them look wrong to you based on your knowledge of these TVs?

            Thanks!

Seems like your sus voltages are up but what does Ysc and Zbais measure ? Also in a dark room does the screen appear to glow ?

Re: Vizio P50HDM power on but no picture

Thanks for the help. Sorry I was away for a while - had some other things come up.

No glow when the TV is powered on in a dark room.

Could you help point out on the pictures I uploaded where the Ysc and Zbias test points are? I see the word ZBIAS on the Zsus board, but there's no obvious test point there so I'm not sure where to measure the voltage. And I couldn't find Ysc.

                Thanks!

                    by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                    Assuming...

                    Hi.

picked up another TV. This time is a Vizio M65-C1. TV does not turn on. I had repaired another 60 inch vizio , Bad main board.
When power button is pressed, the Power led indicator on the bottom right, turns for a few seconds and then it fades away. No backlight or Vizio logo on screen. Removed back cover and repeated test.
This is the TV This TV is a little different from the Samsung I have worked on. Power supply is on the Left side, Main Bd is on the right side, T-CON , not in the picture is on the bottom. I am assuming that the boards in the middle are the LED...

                    Failure Symptom

No picture, just red vertical stripes. Google search shows quite common problem for these recent Vizio M series although red vertical stripe pattern may differ. Some call it "Netflix" boot screen haha.

                    Where is the short?

Panel has 4x buffer boards. Quickly found the 1/4 panel buffer board with the problem by selectively disconnecting buffer board flex cables.

Having recently fixed another Vizio with similar symptoms that was a shorted ESD diode array ( link ) Probed the ESD diode array but...

Vizio SmartCast TV software bug that looks like hardware
                    by howardc64
Bug looks like hardware so thought I posted it here. Exact same behavior on 2 different model 4K Vizio TVs running their SmartCast smarttv software. After launching youtube app, press vizio button on remote to return to the smarttv menu, once in awhile, a column of bad pixels will show for few seconds on the left hand side.

It seems the vizio software is reinitializing hardware when returning to the smarttv menu. In general, SmartCast software isn't very good. Also will randomly (relatively infrequent) get no network connection when on wifi and require reboot....
