Pioneer PDP LX5090 fans not turning on?

As the title suggests, I've recently purchased this for £80 and all works just fine but I have noticed the top getting very hot and I would of thought the fans would of kicked in long before this temperature, is there anything wrong with the fans or is this normal? I've read only the little amount of info I could find on this issue and nothing has helped, any ideas are welcome, thank you.

I have the same set (Tom66's old one) same issue-well its not an issue they only turn on when the set is about to combust lol. The Tv can operate at that temp well with out any issues even when they do turn on they are very silent and you wont be able to tell.

Tom said to me that he ran this thing at full white with adjusted sus voltages to make it brighter ended up using over 600w the fans never come on then either. I might actually mod mine so they run from start as it does get very hot wonder if there is a setting in the SM to adjust the active temp but if its thermistor based this wont be possible and it would need hard wiring.

Thank you, I've read else about them not coming on but considering the age of this thing I think anything to help preserve the life has to be a good thing, it will be interesting to hear and see if this can be modded, or better still, adjusted in the service menu so they come on at a far lower temp, it must be hitting 60+ degrees Celsius I think, thanks again.

Yeah I might have a mess if I can be bothered lol if not just screw some fans to the top case and wire them in as well there is space. Also £80 fucking hell nice price ! I suggest you remove the back cover and hoover the set out as well as dust can cause it to run hotter. Also add me on facebook and I can show you the mods I have done to mine

          Pioneer LX5090 - 2x Red blink after auto-shutdown
          by janos666
I was trying to reset the Pulse Meter and re-adjust the Panel-1/2 settings in the SM on an exceptionally old Pioneer LX5090 (51k power-on hours according to it's SM). I did this many times on much less aged specimens (with 10-20k hours) without issues. After following the usual workflow, I noticed the darkest gray shade showed up black with bright sparkles. I tried to adjust some other parameters but it didn't disappear. Then I went on and restored the old values of the parameters I don't usually touch (although I did this from memory, so I might have made an error). After that, I started going...

RTX3090 working fine but fans not spinning
          by emil_t
Hello guys. I have a problem with a PNY XLR8 GAMING RTX3090 graphics card. The problem is that it displays and works fine, but the fans don't spin at all. The problem occurred when someone else removed the fans in order to clean it and broke one of the fan connectors. He replaced it himself and after that, it wasn't working anymore. I guess he damaged something else in the process. What i have done so far: I found 2 capacitors next to the connector that were in a bad shape, he must have touched them with his tools - they weren't shorted, but i replaced them with similar ones from a similar card....

          Good Afternoon, Good People.

I know this will be an elementary little project for most if not all of you, but I thought I would write a post and get put on track, rather than bumbling my way through it with all kinds of trials and errors.

I REALLY would appreciate y'alls help.

This is the problem - My wife and I purchased a big ol Victorian/Colonial House in NYC two years ago. The kitchen is surrounded on 3 sides by exterior walls, there is also a 1/4 of the kitchen floor (ceramic tiles) that has a crawl space underneath, and the kitchen gets FREEZING cold...

Pioneer PL-X9 motor speed control wobble
          by Bushcat
I'm starting to re-cap a Pioneer PL-X9 turntable, specifically the motor control board, because although everything tests out OK according to the service manual, the speed wavers slightly despite the quartz lock light remaining on. So, I've decided to re-cap that board since it's the cheapest next step...

Pioneer's passive component naming convention is clear to me. For example, CSZA R22M 35 is tantalum, radial leads, 0.22uF, 20%, 35V.

BUT there are two capacitors on the board which have actual Pioneer part numbers: PCL-042. I can tell they are 0.1uF, 16V but don't...

Drying Oven - Preset Temp Fail
          by tmcw
          Here's an unusual one...

This is a Gallenkamp oven, used in a laboratory space, goes up to 220 Celcius, but is usually maintained at about 115 Celcius. Used for drying glassware, molecular sieves, and so on. Oven is in excess of 20 years old.

It heats up fine, there is an orange light on the front that indicates that the unit is heating, and when it reaches the preset temp, the orange light goes out. All good so far.

However, after the preset temp is reached, the temperature continues to rise, power to the heating elements isn't cut off.
