Might have burst a bga solder ball or it was the chip internally faulty, only fix is replace the chip. Maybe get a new board boss ?

I just tried the oven again at 425F for 10 minutes.
I can't buy bother board reecey. None available on eBay.
I'm not even going to look on taobao. I've already lost money there once.
If this bake doesn't solve it, I'll try heat gun on high for 3 minutes.
If that doesn't fix it, it's scrap.
Dont scrap the Tv, you know this issue just store it for a while and keep checking for the part thats what I do that will be a massive waste boss.

After this last bake, I'm back to having the lg life's good on screen but now it stays on there. It doesn't go away.
I think I'll either spend the $135 to send it in or junk it. I got it free so I'm not out anything.
Reecey, you just posted as I was lol. I can store it. Along with the p55vt30 and the 2 p42vt30 I have and let's not forget the 32" I'm waiting for the eeprom to arrive.
My wife is going to kill me.

They don't say. As I said earlier in the thread, I asked the guy if the change the 48 pin flash chip/eeprom and he said no.
But like someone else said, maybe they do and just don't say. That's why I didn't press. They can say whatever is convenient and I can't blame them. It's their livelihood.
Got the board back from pts and they said it wasn't economically repairable.
So, I took a chance and purchased one from eBay for the 55lv5500 and the tv is now working.
Got it cheaper than the pts repair would have been.
It did an auto update of the firmware too. The only thing is the model is identified as a 55lv5500 in setup, about.
Not sure if it can be changed.
