Sanyo dp55441 "no signal" please help!

I have a Sanyo dp55441. A lightning storm came by the other day and got several electronics in the house. This tv included. It wouldn't do anything when power was pressed. I took tv down, took back cover off, and visibly checked everything and nothing stood out. I plugged power up and tv came on. Everything seemed to work. I could change input and it would display and then show "no signal". So I connected it to different sources and still get "no signal". I have tried all hdmi ports. Composite Video ports and the USB port and they all show no signal.

    Any ideas?

The main board's numbers are listed as 431c4169l02. They are nearly impossible to find.

    Questions:
Do you think this is what is causingissue?
Is there a way to check if this is bad?
Is this part compatible with other similar parts?

Thanks so much for any help!

one test need to do, when you plug USB storage check the LED indicator of the USB it tun on and blinking or not, this test to confirm if 5 Volt there in the signal circuit.

The mainboard probably took a big hit and the chip that controls the HDMI is not working.

$55 not a bad price! Its the L02 version. If all connectors look visibly the same then it will work.

        Thanks for the help!
I plugged a usb into the port and it did light up. It also would allow me to access the usb info. However it still wouldn't show video through the hdmi or component ports. Any idea?

Also, that link with the main board for $55 will be compatible if it looks the same even though the p/n isn't exactly the same?

Thanks again for all your help!

let we narrow it more, did you play photo or movie or music via USB, we need to confirm the audio and video process at the main processor not damage.

That board comes out of the same tv so it will work.

              Update:
I put in usb and I can display a jpg image file. It will not show any of my MP4 video files on the usb to try to play them. Any ideas what video format the tv will play through usb?
              Thanks!

Re: Sanyo dp55441 "no signal" please help!

yes USB designed on this set of Sanyo play only Photos, nothings wrong with it, was my mistake to wrote music, video file.

please read this link how to inter service ( Factory ) menu, and first focus on point No (8) Source Calibration of PC or YPbPr/YCbCr terminal signal ... if it give you OK will be good, if it give you result NG . then go to point No (6) NVRAM CLEAR. to rest the set complete.. as this set had much do with firmware to syncs HDMI and calibration them . also give it try, before you go to option change or inspection hardware.

also please put it in mind don't blame only yours Sanyo TV of this fault, try to test yours HDMI out put source set. and HDMI cable too. to be sure that fault belong to the TV 100%.

Ok. I followed the instructions from your link clicked source calibration, did a nvram clear and reset to default settings. I put tv on video 3 and pc and did source calibration and got "pattern ng" I changed to every source on the tv from different output sources and can't get anything to provide video or audio to the tv. From the usb I can display an image and all menu function work on the tv. What should I check next? Does this still sound like this is a main board issue?

Thanks again for all of your help!

It is also no signal. Also, the link provided for the replacement board on eBay is a L01 version. Will this work as mine is a L02. If I find a L02 that comes out of same model tv as mine and looks identical it will work?

                      I really appreciate your help!!!

you can try make for him offer moe cheaper.. and you know now how to deal with service men, so you can change any if the replacment boards need other settings...

.. i would suggest since you are going to change the MB, take it out from the set, and with hot air gun, heat the main processor very well , it may got bad soldering as the pins all downside.. try it if not go to replace

So, what you are saying is that all other versions that look the same as mine will work with my tv. I just may have to change the settings? In the factory mode service menu? Is this correct?
                          Thanks again!

between on ebay you can find yours version also new version 03..

you can see all HDMI line going to the IC in the middle, this one heat it with hot air gun... give it try and save $

Re: Sanyo dp55441 "no signal" please help!

The heatgun trick will not work. It only works when the chip became so hot that the soldering got loose.

This particular set has been struck by lightning. Or atleast a high current went through ( probably ) one of the devices that were connected via hdmi. The chip that controls the hdmi is shorted and needs replacing. If that is too difficult then replace the mainboard.

You can always try what Diah says as that would save you a lot of money but with high current through the mainboard im sure it will never work. Im sure that one OR more chips on the board are fried.

Dear Moreno83, the IC not shorted, because it succeed to switched USB and display its contents, if he got Lighting from HDMI , you can see on the MB all HDMI line going direct to the IC. there is also big possibility one pin under the IC cracked by spark. since he should go to replace the boards,, any try will cost him Zero.

No hard feelings Diah , i get your point but with lighting atleast 1 chip gets shorted. It will take more parts with him

Hope a reflow will work! Fingers crossed.

So is there a way to test and see what part is bad with a multimeter?

Ok. Unfortunately the heat gun didn't fix problem. Still get pattern ng. Is there a way to test to see if and which chips or boards are bad?
