Magnovox 50 MV314X makes pop sound when turning on

Inherited a dead Magnovox - model 50MV314X/F7. No signs of life - assumed it was power supply as this has been the case with about 10 I have previously repaired. A new board was less than the repair kit.
Found an inexpensive PS on ebay and installed. When turning on it blinks red like trying to turn on and then there is a brief static pop out of the speaker and nothing happens. Any ideas what might cause this? Don't mind getting a main board if it it suspect - they are only around $20, but if it could be something else would try that first. Thanks.

my guess is you have a bad main board. For prices like this it's a no brainer to get a new board.

New main board and no change. Still blinks red light like trying to start and a few seconds later a static pop comes out of the speakers. Can anyone tell me how to check the power from the PS to the main board? Thanks

I suspected a bad PS since it is doing the same thing with both the old main board and new main board. Now it turns on and the Magnavox logo comes on and HDMI text at top left of TV, but after a few seconds it has that static pop out of the speakers and turns off. Not sure where to go, but this is a relatively new TV and want to give to my son and daughter-in-law expecting first child. Any help is appreciated. Would pictures help?

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

            Assuming...

[SOLVED] M1 MacBook Pro clicking sound logic board 5V no power on A2338 820-02020
            by slimmy182
Hello, I bought this Mac from a friend, he said that it simply stop working. The MacBook looks very clean but does not power on, stuck on 5v 0.42A, and sometimes display 5V and 0A (then 0.071A and again 0A).

I opened it looking for some problem, it was not touched before for sure and the board is very clena, no spot of corrosion at all from what I can see. Voltage on multimeter of the board off the case it's the same, 5V 0.42A. But then I noticed this "clicking sound" come from the board ( I attached here the audio file).

Looking on google I found this:...

Samsung UN65js8500F, no sound, blank screen and T-Con board with one LED on
            by mrtek
Hi I am new to this kind of repairs but I want to learn..I have a Samsung UN65JS8500F. the TV used to work and I tried to fix darker areas in the middle only ( img 1,2,3). I thought the led strip were bad..not the case. I did not research in advance what kind and where the LED were located. In this model they are located vertically on right and left side. Took the TV apart and put it back together. Now the tv shows no welcome screen and no sound is available thru the speakers. ..just a black screen..Backlight LED do turn on...also noticed a 5 blink code , not sure if that was there before. I can...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
            by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board
