Re: Magnovox 50 MV314X makes pop sound when turning on
I suspected a bad PS since it is doing the same thing with both the old main board and new main board. Now it turns on and the Magnavox logo comes on and HDMI text at top left of TV, but after a few seconds it has that static pop out of the speakers and turns off. Not sure where to go, but this is a relatively new TV and want to give to my son and daughter-in-law expecting first child. Any help is appreciated. Would pictures help?

Magnovox 50 MV314X makes pop sound when turning on
Inherited a dead Magnovox - model 50MV314X/F7. No signs of life - assumed it was power supply as this has been the case with about 10 I have previously repaired. A new board was less than the repair kit.
Found an inexpensive PS on ebay and installed. When turning on it blinks red like trying to turn on and then there is a brief static pop out of the speaker and nothing happens. Any ideas what might cause this? Don't mind getting a main board if it it suspect - they are only around $20, but if it could be something else would try that first. Thanks.

Vizio E422VA turns on by itself
If Vizio E422VA is unplugged from electrical outlet it takes several minutes to turn on after it is plugged back in. After that it turns on fine; however, after turning the TV off it will turn itself back on after 2-3 minutes. I don't see any caps that look bad. Does this sound like a main board issue or power supply issue before recapping the PS? Thanks....

RCA L42F HD37 remote infrared on TV not working
Visiting mom in NC. Her RCA L42F does not respond to the remote. Pressing any button on the remote makes the blue power light on the TV flicker to green. Obviously receiving some type of signal but TV not responding to the commands. Trying to change input. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Re: Magnavox 32ME402V/F7 No power
I'd respect BudM's response.
Maybe a different problem I had, but I was able to repair two of these TVs.
One I used shopJimmy's repair kit below:
http://www.shopjimmy.com/philips-a21fgmpw-001-power-supply-component-repair-kit-for-32me402v-f7.htm
The other had a burnt spot under the ceramic resistor, and I found the kit below on e-bay. Fixed my problem:

Good luck.Re: Magnavox...

Re: Vizio E370VL - amber logo
I went back and touched up the eprom with solder to insure I had good contacts. TV fired right up 4 to 5 times. I hooked it up to cable line and picture was great. About 2 minutes later the screen went snowy with multi-color horizontal lines while simulataneously making a static screaching noise.
I did check the regulators and not getting any readings on two of them (U8 and U5). U4 has reading of 2.05; 3.28; 5.34.
Anybody have any thoughts? Thanks....

Re: Vizio E321VL - now power
I took a $20 gamble on the 5V repair kit. Looks like it fixed the problem. TV working great!
When taking the old parts off I found one part (C103 in photo) was burned on the side. Might have been the only problem but went ahead and replace two of the three other parts (didn't replace the fuse). Thanks for all your help....

Re: Vizio E321VL - now power
Budm or anyone, I found a "Stand-by repair kit" on ebay. Is this worth trying?

Re: Vizio E321VL - now power
Thanks Budm, sorry I've been away with some health issues. I've read through a lot of the threads on this model, but can't discern a solution. Shop Jimmy has a PS board for around $44. What are the prospects that I'll spend that much on parts and time to repair this board, if indeed it is the PS. I bought an eprom for this TV in case that might be a common Vizio problem, but haven't installed as it seems to be a PS problem. I will be donating this TVto someone (instead of it going into landfill). Thanks. Phil

Vizio E321VL - now power
Vizio E320VL showing no signs of life. 14 pin connector on power supply not getting a reading on the 5 volt pins. Large capacitor showing around 168 volts. Smaller caps look fine, but is it worth replacing anyway?
I have a new eprom for the unit if anyone thinks that could be the culprit. Thanks for any help. Phil...Last edited by phil@philporter.com; 08-06-2015, 02:30 PM.

Vizio E370VL - amber logo
Amber logo only. After sitting unplugged for an hour or more it will turn from amber to white. A couple of times the backlight will actually come on.
Was so hoping replacing the eprom would fix, but same thing. After installing the eprom the screen lit up to green with lines going through it, but after a few seconds went back to white logo only.
I've read about voltage regulators, but don't know what specs they should be at. Thanks for any thoughts.
(is it also possible I didn't solder the eprom thoroughly?)

Re: Vizio 422VA - main board?
Sorry for my delay. Had to put this project aside for awhile. Main board number is TXACB 5K00605Q.

Re: Sony KDL 40 - tabs bonding?
Any other options! Any chance of selling any of the parts that are probably still functioning fine? Thanks

Sony KDL 40 - tabs bonding?
Have a Sony KDL-40BX421 - something going on with the screen. Have seen a few threads about tab bonding. Top quarter of the screen looks great - bottom looks like bad panel or T-con. Can't figure where the T-con is on this TV. From the photos any suggestions? And where is the T-con board? Thanks...

Vizio 422VA - main board?
Vizio 422VA in spare bedroom. Had not turned on for awhile. When I did the white light on button in bottom right illuminated. After about 3 seconds it starts blinking a brighter white. Found no bulging caps, but still suspected power supply. Went ahead and found one online and installed. No change - still blinking white power button light.
Figure it must be main board, but hoping someone knows of something to try as these main boards seem hard to come by and about $100. Thanks....
