    Backlight LED Replacement tip

Not sure if this is in the correct forum but here goes. Changed 3 leds on a 40" Samsung yesterday. did same last week to 3 samsung tvs with no problems, however when all put back together and tv powered up on this set I had 3 distinct bright spots on the screen, these lined up with the areas that I had replaced the leds. Took tv and screen apart again to see what was wrong, fired the backlights up and all seemed ok with them, however when looking at the leds wearing two pairs of dark sunglasses it was obvious that the 3 leds I changed were brighter than all the others. Long story short I had not replaced the clear plastic led covers exacly centred on the leds. removed the led lenses and replaced them exactly in the centre of the led and problem solved.
Therefore when replacing leds make sure that lens cover is exactly in the centre of the led.
Maybe you all know this i I am the only one that has been caught out with this

Thanks for the tip about the sunglasses. Sounds like good practice to test the backlight before putting the screen back together with all the screws and covers.

Very rarely do I solder a new led onto the existing strip.
The stacking method is faster and eliminates the chance of bright spots.

ASUS ROG Strix G713QR - Keyboard, backlight and side LEDs don't work
          by hollox123
Hello, I have an "ASUS ROG Strix G713QR" laptop, and for approx. 3 months I have the following problems:

          1. Laptop keyboard doesn't work
          2. The backlight on the laptop keyboard doesn't work
          3. The x2 side LEDs (red) on the laptop don't work

The power button works, the touchpad works, and all the USB, HDMI, Ethernet, etc. ports work.

I already tried to reinstall all the drivers and reinstall Windows. So I don't know what to try anymore that is software-related.

But I am strongly aiming that it is somehow a BIOS-related problem,...

Panasonic LED TV TC-40A420U - Replaced Backlight LEDs but now no image/display or garbled
          by signal.quest
I have a Panasonic LED TV TC-40A420U. The TV was given to me as an attempt to fix or throw out. I replaced the Backlight LEDs and now the screen lights up, but there is no image/display. If I play with the up/down buttons I can get the display to change from black to garbled. I can't get sound from HDMI but not sure of what input is selected. I have no remote control. When I connect a laptop to the HDMI ports it recognizes a Panasonic TV for display and sound output but I can't see or hear anything through the TV. This makes me think the mainboard is OK, but not sure if mainboard can...

Got problem with a samsung UE55JU6875 after replacemant of backlight
I have done similar replacement several times before without any issues but now I got video problems after the replacement and do not understand why

          Attached picture of the problem
Is it a bad panel or any issues with the T-con card or ribbon cables or bad connections?.

I have tried to replace both ribbon cables from T-con to panel without any difference.

          Any ideas?

The only misstake I might have done was forgot to remove the ribbon cables from the T-con card before...

LG 42LN540V LED Backlight Flickering After Replacement When Connecting The Screen
          by RetroComputingGrotto
This TV has been on the wall in our reception area for around 10 years and the other day the backlight failed. You could see a feint picture so we knew the screen was OK. I took the TV apart to get to the failed backlight and inject voltage in to each half of the LED strips to identify which ones had failed and 4 needed replacing. I ordered a set off of Amazon and they arrived the next day.

On fitting the new LED strips I plugged in the TV was blinded by the light!!

It was only when I partially put it all back together (including the screen) that...

Guide me through repairing a Dell p2210f LCD ccfl backlight monitor
          by DanPoka
I bought this p2210f dell monitor to fix. Schematic is the same as p2210.
Behaviour is that monitors comes on but then backlight switches off almost instantly. If I look with flashlight I can still find the "No signal message". So definitely a backlight issue. Trying to advance the issue I proved that the protection circuit is switching off the backlight by shorting out C3 and resistor to disable the INL chip then re enable by removing the short.
This is where it gets interesting. When I disassembled the monitor to solder leads on c3 capacitor I noticed the backlight flickered...
