Dumb question: if I jumper the S50 connector will the board revert to a BA?

You are correct with the first two words.

PTS is a good choice for rebuilds, you may want to send an email with an explanation and some images of what you've done and what is wrong with the board now.

      you mentioned a bad connector?

Most places won't touch anything messed with by the untrained but they may take it on. You don't know if you don't ask.

Will they take the old board back and how much will you loose in freight and time?

Why not repair the board yourself? You probably only need the IGBT's that are short and need to put the capacitors back in the board.
I only repair Panasonic plasma tv's! Currently owning a TX-P55VT50 and still searching for a ZT60!

I think I will attempt to repair the old board. More questions on that later. I will also try to return the BG board. The shipping was about $25 so I could get a big chunk back if they take it, even if there is a "restocking" fee. It had a 90 day warranty so if they can verify it's still good it seems they would have to take it back.

Does anyone not recommend the 5335 repair kit from PTS?

Do you intend to keep the set? I've ordered several items from them, never been dis-satisfied. For $95 you get the 5335BA, but for $175, you get every board! Doubtful they would attempt repair on your board, besides it's the same cost either way.

Present status: The seller agreed to take my BG board back and send me a BA. I need to pay round trip shipping (to Hong Kong!) but I think that is a lower cost versus returning the BG board for a refund (plus shipping to Hong Kong) and buying a new board somewhere else.In the mean time I may buy a repair kit for my original BA board that I've cut some caps off of.

It's not just a cap and coil swapover between the two.

Guess what, FEDEX estimate to ship the board back to Hong Kong is $130!! (DHL charged $35 from HK to CA.) Guess I'll buy that BA board from PTS for $95 after all. Anyone need a TNPA5335BG board?

Great. Good lesson learned. I sent a PM to utee. No reply. Introduced faults does make it hard to figure out sometimes. Luckily you mentioned the original was BA

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

Hello, I've had this TV for 3 years, 2 years ago it stopped working signaling 12 Blinks, SOUND_SOS according to the service manual.

It has no VSUS or VDAT, and P15V has 1.0V instead, the same 15V goes to A board. F15V is ok and other main voltage rails.

It seems the power supply is defective, since unplugging D20 ribbon cable that goes from D-board to SC-board makes the behavior change, the TV stays on, there's no image nor VSUS, but 15V reads 2.4V, high enough to not trip the SOS 12 blinks, so it stays on, fans do not spin but I left it 2 hours, green led lit up...

All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
                                        • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
