    Samsung PS50C450 picture issues

    Hi,

I'm not sue how to describe my problem.
When changing channels, picture from previous channel stays on, still slightly visible, mainly channel logo on bright background.
Menu outline still visible after leaving menu etc...
When no signal (black background) kind of dark red patches on the screen.
Which screen board (if any) should I change to fix it.

    Thank you.
    Regards.

Post pictures of your boards and screen fault if possible.

      y-sus:
      LJ41-08458A

      buffer:
      Lj41-08459A

It will be difficult to capture the picture fault.
Darker shapes (shadows) on the bright background or dark red patches on the black screen (when no signal)

As vinceroger69 suggests, the panel should have a label which gives various voltages which you will find on the circuit boards. VS, VA, etc. Do the voltages read from the circuit boards match?

Wow I'm from Bedworth, a few miles to Nuneaton
I checked the Vs and Va on power supply.
I already increased the voltage by a few volts. Nothing changed.

maybe but wait for more experienced members to chime in they may have other thoughts, i dont often have plasmas to work on but still read all the threads for when i do image retention is something im not sure on myself but as you have already put the voltages up a little im not sure what else you can try.

in the mean time take some good clear pictures of the boards used in your set as some members if theres no pictures wont offer help which i dont blame them as we dont have the tv in front of us we rely on the pictures provided these boards may also be used in another set we reconise.

Measure the Ve - Erasing Voltage generated at the X-Board and derived from the Vs voltage. Ve is 95-100Vdc. Primarily used to assist the Y-Board in erasing previously activated cells and neutralizing the erasure before the next scan.

Is there test point on x-board to measure Ve voltage, please?

Yes--Its marked, Ve. There's a small pot near the TP for setting.

Worth checking VSC on the Y and that the Vs is correct.

These panels at this age also show poor discharge especially when cold showing up as a grainy picture--like its projected on black sand. Nothing much you can do about that, its just age related Mal-Discharge.

The IR you're experiencing seems also related to age when all voltages are correct, Prolly one of the poorer samsung panels the worst being the E series...

Oddly, the 42" C isnt half as bad, Dunno what they did wrong on the 50"

Let's see...The Y- Main Board is the left board and the X-Main Board for Samsung Plasma TVs is the board on the right, if looking at the TV from the back. So there should be a Test Point labeled Ve somewhere on the X-Board. Loss of Ve will cause the symptom you are having. For a quick fix replace the X-Board.

This was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.

                                          Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode...

                                          by Yanleb
I have a Samsung UN58TU7000FXZC (same as UN58TU7000FXZA, just the Canadian model) with no picture. Backlight is on and sound is coming out just fine. Just no picture.

What is frustrating is that there's no voltage test point and no component labelling of any kind.

What I have found so far:
                                          1. No voltage at pins 91-94 of the 96 pins connector CN1300 (marked 1 on the picture). This TV set has no T-CON board. The 96 pin flex cable goes directly to the right (when facing TV) lower panel board. Itself is linked with another flex to the other side.
                                          2. Voltage...

Hi guys, i am dealing with one Samsung 50TU8000K which was without picture - just was resetting itself constantly. Saw some videos and read some post about simmilar issue and the advise was to try to tape cut off method and started to put tape on some of the pins on this ribbon cable:

And then i had picture but with lanes. Tried different pins and combination but could not managed to make it work without any lanes so far. Will keep playing with it though.
The weird thing is that i tried it again without any tape on the pins and now i have picture with just few lanes...

Greetings fellow DYIers, the moment I discovered this community forum, nostalgia has hit me pretty hard, this early web 2.0 look and feel is close to home. I can't describe my happiness seeing active forums that survived today, and its not just yet another centralized propriety subreddit.

Before I describe my issue with this particular TV, I would like to let you know that I do have basic electronic competence, and some electronic component knowledge. I also am an electrical installation technician student, although we exclusively study alternating currents and our primary...

Samsung UN60F8000BFXZA ~ No Picture or Sound - 5 Res Light Blinks

                                          Hello all ~

I’m working on this Samsung 60” LED and purchased a new main board a couple of days ago that did not fix the 5 blink issue. The original main board’s HDMI ports (all 4 of them) failed to work and no amount of reflow remedied that.

This 5 red light blink code on the front panel LED is followed (about 15-20 seconds afterward) by an automatic reboot, and results in 5 more red light blinks. Then the entire cycle repeats itself indefinitely.

                                          No picture. No sound.

I tested all the voltages coming out of the power supply...
