    Sounds - no picture - Philips 42 PFL3606H

    Hi all,

Hoping someone can help me out.

I have perfect sound, and I can see image on screen if I shine a flashlight on it.

Any ideas what I could do to fix this or the parts needed?

Tried rebooting the TV and leaving it plugged out for a few hours but no luck.

    Thanks!

Take some nice sharp pictures of all the boards and attach.

Can you give tell us what isalongside each pin of the connector marked in red and also what voltage is on each pin in standby and then out of standby.

Eg Pin number, (legend), standby voltage, on voltage

                Pin1 (12V) 0V, 11.8V
                Pin2 (STB5V) 0V, 5.1V
                etc

                  Thanks. Will do.

I have 2-pin multimeter which measures voltage - what's the easiest way to measure the voltage on the pins ?

Black meter lead on the chassis and use red lead to measure with meter set to DC volts. I think you can access the pins at the lefthand side of the connector where the pins are visible.

I'm probably making a mess of this... but here's what I think I have:

Using a Fluke multimeter with automatic AC/DC detection. The readings all show "AC" after them though.

                      Pin1 (ENA) 0V, 15V
                      Pin2 (DIM) 0V, 15V
                      Pin3 (12V) 1V, 15V
                      Pin4 (12V) 1V, 15V
                      Pin5 (GND) 0V, 15V
                      Pin6 (GND) 0V, 15V
                      Pin7 (GND) 0V, 15V
                      Pin8 (24V) 0V, 15V
                      Pin9 (24V) 0V, 15V
                      Pin10 (S/B) 0V, 15V
                      Pin11 (+5V) 0V, 15V
                      Pin12 (+5V) 0V, 15V

That is not right, can we see your meter? Can it be set to just DC?

I was jabbing the red pin into the slots here.

Can't set the meter to DC unfortunately, on the Voltage setting it says "AC / DC auto Detection"

Not appropriate meter, it only has 1000V scale with 1V resolution, the meter is for electrical line works.
It is showing 15V on ALL the pins so that cannot be right either, low battery or the auto AC/DC is not working.
What do you get when you try to measure 1.5V battery such as AA battery.
You need to get the meter for electronics works.

+1 Budm is correct and you need to get your hands on an ordinary multimeter wjich you can easily set. Please come back when you have new readings.
