Samsung LED Model #un55hu8530 picture but no sound

While I am watching TV the sound cuts out. I can reset it and unplug it or just wait and sometimes the sound comes back, but not consistently.

Sometimes when I run the self diagnosis on sound the sound is static-y.


Any ideas appreciated. I ran through the samsung technical help hotline and they had me do the usual reset/turn off and on etc with no change in result. Although everything they did was what I did already.

I suspect there is a part that needs to be replaced. Sometimes, when the sound cuts out the tuner becomes really slow... I suspect it was the recent firmware upgrade to 1152 when this issue started but obviously no way to prove it.

I also wanted to add that I can hit the menu or volume buttons and hear the clicky sound, just no sound from the programming. Whether in attenna or with HDMI device or with Smart HUB apps.

'un55hu8530' Is that really the correct model number? Does it have audio line out jacks that you can test to see if you get the sound there?

'un55hu8530' Is that really the correct model number? Does it have audio line out jacks that you can test to see if you get the sound there?

Yes tried the audio jacks I can get the volume/menu clicks to come out of a sound bar, but the audio of the programming/netflix etc does not come out. I think the board with the audio processor on it is fried? Anyone know which board that is?
