    Failed panel or could it be a board?

    Friend is getting this wide "solarized" band on their TV?

    Is this a panel replacement, or could one of the boards be faulty?

    Panel, try tab bond repair.

          Perfect diagnosis, thanks guys.

          Turns out that their 3 year old may have been licking the screen, appears to be toddler drool on the contacts!

          Fixable still, or shorted totally?

            Yak, try cleaning the area with Ipa and do not power it up till cleaned properly.

              Yeah he tried that, no joy.
              Actually looks like the contacts are fried, distinct lack of gold plating.

                  Gary (Comptek) has had success by simply reflowing the solder for the joints on the cable though maybe give it a shot.
