Re: SONY TV NSX-40GT1 no picture/ only back ligth
That board in the middle is the Tcon board. Make sure the fuse on the TCon is good and there is power going to it. You can verify the signals on the LVDS with an oscilloscope, whilst turning on and off the menu all the time and probing the LVDS pins.
Also we need voltage measurements of the PSU (ribbon cable that goes to the main board) with the TV on and off, to see what is really happening.Comment

Re: SONY TV NSX-40GT1 no picture/ only back ligth
There are 3-pin Voltage regulators such as IC5, ICR4 which has Voltage test points next to them telling you what the DCV should be, there are also other DCV test points on the boards as well, such as VCOMS1, 2, VGMAxx, VDD3.3, etc. so look at the board really well.

I've tried replacing the BMKS board (used from ebay) and also completed the firmware upgrade based on Nicks TV repairs youtube video. I've also replaced the TCON (twice) and PIB.
All of these changes have resulted in the same issue with no picture. I've also tried disconnecting the ribbons... -
