    philips 40pfl3705d/f7 weird display issue

Ok, this tv came to me. It was written on it, no power. So took it apart and figured out was someone was messing with it. Saw the main power fuse missing, so replaced. TV came to life, but no display. So checked t-con board and figured out the smd fuse had 12v on one side, but not the other/ So ordered a t-con off of ebay and now I have display.

But now here is the weird issue. When starting up the "Phillips" logo displays perfectly. But when it finalizes, there is almost a like a line down the middle of the screen and like a mirror effect in between that line from left to right.

I uploaded pictures so you can see. Now is this a bad panel? I tried re-seating all cables. I tried applying pressure along the driver board as well as tapping, no change. Middle line like mirror still here.

So the question remains..bad t con? Or there is some kind of digital board in line from the main board to the t con board...is that bad? Hate to order it on a whim, its 20 for the digital processing board in line. Or bad panel? Also want to know so I can open a return on ebay for the t con if bad...

Everything else is functioning correctly except for the line and mirror image dead center in the screen, which is oddly not there with the phillips logo.

MacBook Air A2337 (820-02016) USB-C Port Issue – Only Works in One Orientation (CC Line Problem?)
      by rounin
      Hi everyone,

I'm working on a MacBook Air 2020 (A2337, board 820-02016) and running into a strange USB-C issue. I've gone through quite a bit of testing and part replacement, but I'm stuck — hoping someone here can shed some light.

      🛠 Original Issue
      The machine initially wouldn't negotiate 20V over USB-C — stuck at 5V.
Diagnosis showed PP1V5_UPC0_LDO_CORE shorted to ground.

I replaced U3100 (UF400) using a donor board (A2179), and the machine powers on fine now.

Dell G3 17 3779 Weird power cycling and shutdown/restart issue
      by SuperJames
This one's a weird one, and still unsolved despite it having gone back to Dell once.

      Specs

i7-8750H, GTX 1060 Max Q, 500GB SSD & Seagate 7mm 1TB HDD. 17.3 IPS screen. This has the fingerprint reader in the power button.

      Backstory

I bought this from eBay, from a wallpapering shop. £650 in 2020 which was a good price considering it's a gaming laptop. Physically it's in perfect shape, apart from the hinge mounts on the palmrest failing in the time I've had it (I have a new palmrest for it). The usual thin plastic crap modern build quality!...

820-02020 Super Weird Issue: Keyboard Input Character Map "Wrong"?
      by ugamazing
So, I have a really bizarre issue that I'm struggling to identify the cause of. Working on an 820-02020 board with some bizarre keyboard/input-source character mapping. My suspicion is a possible damaged SPI ROM (U1970), perhaps, but I'm really not sure in this case:

      1. The issue is pretty weird, but when installing MacOS, I noticed my WiFi password did not work. I quickly realized the special characters (!@#$%^& etc) were not mapping correctly.

      2. I noticed the keyboard layout/input-source is defaulting to JAPANESE every single time I restore the board. I am not...
