Good day people.Have hp6510b laptop with crazy issue.I can switch laptop on either under battery attached or witchout it connected to a OG charger.Have display working correctly.Can access bios menu.Memory test passed ok.Issue is i cant boot into any install media usb or Optical drive to setup Os.Quick boot menu F9 is working ok.Laptop wont boot into media just boots looping or randomly switches himself off dead just before media boot.One time managed to boot into freedos Hp bios update and flashed F16rev bios with success.That did not fixed issue.Couple times rarely like 1/40 laptop did boot into win installer.Bios battery is new installed.Date n time is set correctly in bios options.Another weird issue is laptop wont turn on at all after setting only one core in bios settings.Cpu 7250 intel core duo and Intel GMA sits inside.Had it dissasembled to bare mb,no burnt component found.Regards Chris.

Confirm the usb function. Attach a USB mouse or keyboard. Does that work? -

all usb ports functional.connected external usb keyboard works fine.No issues with internal keyboard too.Comment

What is the brand of your USB thumb drive?
Is it Kingston? Many of their memory sticks are crap and cannot boot on cold boot. You can with a warm boot. Try the three finger salute (Ctrl+alt+del) after turning on the unit.
We found this with the Rufus tool and have 100++ keys to flash the firmware we apply onto our adapter designs using FreeDos.
What does work everytime is the Lexar brand. Manufacturers in Asia we met said it is the compatibility of the flash drive that is lacking in the Kingston brand.Comment

swaping thumb drive for different brand did not resolved an issue,booting system from internal optical drive with working windows install same thing.Laptop just switches off randomly and forth back boot looping.noticed when shuts off machine blinks one time orange charging light.Battery is charging fine.Not a chance even to see message "no boot device found" its just reboots or cuts off power.Comment

Hello fellas quick note for the record.Dusted off that Hp6510b buggy laptop,just to give another try.Found cheapo intel celeron 530,same socket cpu for replace.And laptop boots fine,with no issues.Seems org.cpu T7250 was shoot someway alloving enter to bios but not entering boot mode & shutting off machine.Only small issue to solve.Laptop wont switch off fully by windows shutdown menu option,and hibernation wont wake hardware again.Windows logs off no issues.Screen,hdd,fan turns off,but light diodes on keys stays lit.Only long press on/off button can completely turn off laptop.Cheers.Comment

Issue :
Upon turning laptop ON, screen lights up - stays black & about 30+ minutes later ASUS logo is shown & boots to windows, then laptop works fine.
Tried :
Cleaned inside for dust, applied fresh thermal paste. No Change!
Removed keyboard, Trackpad, fingerprint sensor. No Change!
Removed Internal SSD. No Change!
Updated BIOS to latest version. No Change!
Removed battery and pressing power button for 1 minute. No Change!

I have the above mentioned Alien Ware A51 R2, currently it randomly will boot into the OS but more often than not it boot loops, I'm assuming there's an issue with power regulation somewhere.
It comes with Dual 180 Watt Dell PSU, which is ironic since the thing claims it requires 420 watts in the bios screen.
To rule out the power bricks I've attempted to power up the Laptop with a 330W and 240W Dell PSU at the same time, it still has the same boot loop issue so the problem is definitely the laptop.

I bought this from eBay, from a wallpapering shop. £650 in 2020 which was a good price considering it's a gaming laptop. Physically it's in perfect shape, apart from the hinge mounts on the palmrest failing in the time I've had it (I have a new palmrest for it). So, I have a really bizarre issue that I'm struggling to identify the cause of. Working on an 820-02020 board with some bizarre keyboard/input-source character mapping. My suspicion is a possible damaged SPI ROM (U1970), perhaps, but I'm really not sure in this case:
1. The issue is pretty weird, but when installing MacOS, I noticed my WiFi password did not work. I quickly realized the special characters (!@#$%^& etc) were not mapping correctly.
