display shows black horizontal bars.

read on similar threads about this likely being a bad panel and not to waste money on repair.

just wanted to get some confirmation on this

check all ribbon connectors going to display and t-c.on board

Panel failure not fixable, common issue on this model.

I have the same problem but only at the third part of the bottom screen, the remaining two thirds of screen are ok. I suppose it's the same problem...isn't it? My monitor is samsung syncmaster 901n. Thanks for someone who could help me.

the only hope you may have (temporarily at best) is to try place some gentle pressure on the tab bonded on the side of the panel to see if anything changes.

thanks everyone. I tried pressure on the tab bonded areas. it changed a bit then got really bad then I decided that it wasn't worth the hassle as mentioned before.

got a few more tv's to look at in the next few weeks.
