    TOM66-Question for you

I have a Samsung PN51D550C1F plasma tv with a shorted XSUS board. I replaced all the shorted parts and gate driver IC. I installed 2 bulbs in series on the VS line to the XSUS, I have one bulb wire installed in the power supply VS line and the other bulb wire on the VS line of the XSUS board.

Shouldn't the bulbs light up at power up then glow dimly after, if the circuit is operating normally. I was using 2 70W bulbs wired in series with first bulbs live wire connected to the p/s VS and the neutral wire going to the second bulb and the live of the second bulb going to VS on XSUS.

You seem to be the only person here that knows anything.

For what it's worth I don't answer questions directed to me (PM or otherwise). And there are many other skilled members on this forum but you've surely alienated them now.

I have very little time to direct to BCN now. I have a job, university and my wonderful girlfriend which combined occupy most of my time, so I won't be around that much. I'm also not fixing TVs any more for money as my time is better directed to my job instead (it pays a lot better)
Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Scary part is that mister "can't connect two lightbulbs in series" has opened his own electronic repair shop.

                          Re: TOM66-Question for you

sorry guys it wasn't meant to offend anyone? What I meant about by "he seems to be the only one who know anything" is in regards to using lamps in series with the VS line. I haven't heard of anyone else here using this method.

Sure it was me that mentioned this to you some weeks ago, as Ive been using bulbs as loads/limiters for 30 years on various repairs--Then you had a huge debate as to HOW to wire two bulbs in series--Then I just gave up!

Thanks Alastair, you did help me in the past. I was able to figure everything out. I appreciate all the help I received on this board and I apologize if I came across as an ungrateful asshole. I have learned so much from all of you here.

One thing you'll learn about Any engineer, regardless of dicipline-- the propensity for being prima-donnas, hence the negative comments--Including my own....
--I know of one engineer I know just recently that went literally Crying and sobbing to the boss--Just because of a somewhat off-the-cuff comment passed by another employee, and threatened to walk off the job--He can dish it--but Cannot take it....

As some engineers become more well known in their fields, respected/write books etc--They get Infinitely Worse. I know of an electronic Forum that has some pretty smart guys on there, One word out of place--You get banned!
Scientists are even worse--Sheldon-Cooper does in fact exist inside many top-line scientists....
