  • Re: TC-P58VT25 no display

I guess I will have to look closer at the schematic to follow it thru.

I know when I replaced the Q16551 I got rid of the 6 blink code. It looks like IC16521 is in the same circuit.

I did replace it on the original rebuild, thought maybe I should replace it again.

Also saw a VSCN generator IC. Anybody have any ideas which area I should be looking at.

I have replaced a ton of parts on this board as most of the TNPA5175 boards.

    Any help is appreciated.

Well my results were different but in the wrong way. I still have the 207.8 at the power going into the SC board. With buffers totally disconnected and sc50 jumped,

I have -37.4 volts. I am checking at the resistor marked TPVSCN. I checked Vad and have -187.1 at that test point,

No codes, and led's on both boards bright. I can hear the SC board with the usual hum when it turns on.

Thanks, I will try that tonight when I get off work. I thought about trying that, I guess i didn't because the buffers checked good.

    TC-P58VT25 no display

Hi all. I haven't been on for awhile but I need some help on a Tc-P58vt25.

I was on an old thread and had to back burner this set.
This went from 7 blinks, blowing up-then to 10 bliinks and blowing up.

I got it to 6 blinks and not blowing up. I reviewed the previous post and tw 2005 said to check Q551 which I did and was not shorted.

It apparently was open, cause I replaced it and the SS and SC leds stay on and no codes.

However, no display. I checked VSCN voltage and only show -47 volts and I know it should be about -190 if...

Thanks, that does help. I was just using resistance to try and pair up similar readings. I will check out the U-Tube video also. Always learning!!!!...

I guess all these are compatible so maybe I will get some of each. You can fix these boards pretty cheap, but when they blow up cause of crappy parts, it sure is a waste of time....

Thanks, I guess no matter which way I go, its probably best to check them before installing. I am not sure your readings cause I couldn't pull up your video at work.

When I checked the ones I had, They would start at 1.9 meg on first check and then drop down to .600 meg and sometimes lower.

I used the ones that stayed consistent at about 1.8 meg. no matter how many times I checked them.

I had some that were 29k which I shit canned.

What readings are you looking for when testing...

Hi everybody. I picked up a 55vt30 for free and it was in primo condition,
Had the stand, manual, remote and even 2 pair of glasses.

I then picked up another identical not working and he wanted $150.00 which still wasn't bad, but I offered him $80.00 and he accepted.

I bought one kit to get one running first and then I was going to move on to the next one. The kit was from US so i thought the parts would be ok.

I did not check the 30f131 as the post from tw2005 suggested but apparently they were purchased as the usual fake China ones. I blew...

I forgot to mention I replaced the following parts
    Q661-rjp6065
    Q660-rjk6026
    Q621,622,623-rjp3034
    Q402,403,404-2pg011

    there was also
    Q422,423,424- 30g123 which I had
    D865 which I had
    IC464,465 which I had
R402 was open which I had
    And also
    IC724,725,771
    Q701,702, 818
    IC521, 501
    Q501, 502, 531, 521,522, 551
    PC461

I did the last group of parts as a precaution.

Thanks, I decided to just go ahead with the same parts. I didn't have enough of any if there were some equivalents.

So I got everything in and ended up 6 blinks, nothing blowing up again, just 6 blinks.

So I was reading some posts from tw2005 about fakes and decided to remove some of the igbt's and ck them out of circuit.

The rjp3034'S all had different readings by quite a bit and they would change when turning them on. The ones I originally removed were not shorted, but just replaced them in case...

Well back at it. I took a break so I would not go insane. The voltage on tpsos6 starts at 0 volts when plugged in and rises after I power it up.

It seems to fluctuate a bit but shuts down at 3.9 volts and it drops to 0 volts.
Code 6 shows related to SC energy recovery (MID) but not sure what part of the circuit is related to that.

I have been all over the board checking everything and nothing looks to be shorted but sometimes its hard to tell if something is open or not working correctly.

I just ordered the parts from UT-Source. I will report after all parts replaced and hopefully have a success story.

    TC-P54S1 7 blink

Hi everybody, I picked up a P54S1 and has the usual blown up SC board # TNPA 4844. The buffers check ok which I was really happy for that.

So far this is what I found
    Q661-rjp6065
    Q660-rjk6026
    Q621,622,623-rjp3034
    Q402,403,404-2pg011

    there was also
    Q422,423,424- 30g123 which I had
    D865 which I had
    IC464,465 which I had
R402 was open which I had

I am checking all the other items, but I want to get the above items in circuit.

My question is, are there any substitutes for the top items...

  • Re: Panasonic TC-P58VT25 10 blink

Well i have checked everything and nothing stands out as a problem. I can only think I got a bad part from UT but not sure.

tw2005- I know when I first started on this board it had 10 blinks, and after repair it went to 6 blinks.

You had me check a specific area of the board and found a shorted diode. But still had the 6 blink.

Then it self destructed and I started from scratch and presently it goes to 6 blinks after about 4 seconds. Buffers are isolated.

    Any suggestions on this would...

I will do some more checking over the weekend. Unfortunately my work shop in the garage is a little toasty. It's 116 degrees in Phoenix Arizona area !!!

Not sure, I just saw it go up and then I removed my probes and unplugged it. TPSOS6 is located close to SC20 and if I recall correctly its pin 65 of IC9004.

Would it tell me anything if the voltage drops back down?

  • Re: Panasonic TC-P58VT25 10 blink

I think I will keep checking my SC board for the 6 blinks and see if I can figure it out.

It seems like it powers on for about 5 seconds before it goes 6 blinks. I do have the buffers isolated.

It looks like something in the Vad line from the schematic, so I will check all related items. TPSOS6 starts at 0 volts and then goes high to 4.87 volts thus the shut down.

  • Re: Panasonic TC-P58VT25 10 blink

Thanks for the replies. Nothing blew up. I have checked everything and all appears ok. I must have missed something. I did not change Q818 as it had same readings as my known good board.

As far as the SD board goes, with both buffers installed from the VT and using the good TNPA 5175ab from the S2 is when it only displays the top or SU portion of the screen.

The SC board schematics show different from the two TV's so I thought about getting an SD buffer from a S2 series and see if that would work.

    I would...

I guess I should also add, I know its still in the SC board but did not know if the ribbon disconnected of the lower C boards would be a certain section I should be looking at.

I spent hours on Fathers day checking every resistor and diode and all the items I replaced and everything checks.

I installed my spare off the P58S2 and it still works with only the top half of the screen.

I was trying to see if I could use that board but I think it's the lower buffer thats different.

    I thought about getting...

Just a note, I did not have the ribbons under the board when testing, I just did that for pictures.

Also if the SC20 is connected at any time it shuts down with 6 blinks.
