Vizio m550vse stuck on with V on screen

When turned on the V appears on the screen and can not be turned off with remote or button on tv. I have powered off the tv, left it unplugged overnight. I opened up the tv and the power board has the correct voltages. I then read the posts on testing voltage regulators and tested mine. They are all fixed voltage, LD1117ag. The 3.3v ones read 3.26v and 3.27. The 1.2v ones now read 1.16 and 1.17. They did read 1.12 the day before. I did an experiment. I attached an ethernet cable and tried to power up the tv. I attached the tv to a power strip. I toggled the power strip on and off twice in the span of 1 second. Then pressed the on button. The V appeared on the screen and after 12 seconds I can use the tv. I think it took firmware updates, while I watched a channel. I did a factory reset and the tv continued to work for hours. The next day, today, I was back to freezing with the V on the screen. I toggled the power strip twice in a second and the tv worked. Any ideas on what to do? Should i change the 1.2v voltage regulators? Should I change the 3.3v regulators? How should i proceed?
    Thanks, Ira

I checked all the caps on the power board with an esr meter. They all tested good. I checked the output voltages on ac volts looking for oscillation and got a maximum of 0.08 VAC. I reflowed a few chips and nothing changed. The only thing I see is that the 12v coming off the power board is at 11.83v.

Logo stuck on screen sounds like a bad EEPROM.
Physical movement making a difference however indicated a physical issue such as bad solder joints.

I agree with Nick on the EEPROM...I have had two Vizios with that malady. Both were main board issues. Found out later that one took a lightning strike to the dish/coax. Main board fixed them both. I have also found plenty of suspect solder joints on Vizios, among others.

I'll look for bad solder joints, since I can get the tv to work if I toggle the power strip, the tv is plugged into, twice quickly.

I know this is an old thread, but thought i would take a chance. similarly, every so often, i can cajole this TV to come on. if i leave it powered up, it stays working. if i power off for more than a minute or so, i'm back to this symptom. The limited research i've done tells me there isn't an EEPROM on this. could that be true? if there are cold soldier joints, any suggestions where i can look to touch them up?

Try heating main processor on mainboard and see if that allows it to come on.
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

Vizio TV M50-C1 reboot cycle and static on screen
                by spice_disc
I'm currently trying to diagnose and fix my Vizio TV (Model M50-C1). I've tried a number of different basic solutions, but I'm trying to determine if my issue is currently a failing panel, T-Con board, or main board (or something else entirely) and whether or not it is worth my time to fix it. Details of the issue and what I've tried are below as well as why I think it is either a bad panel, T-Con board, or main board.

The Issue: The TV will be on and working fine but after the TV is on for ~5-10 minutes the screen will freeze (with sound continuing) until the TV reboots itself. While...

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
                by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

Lenovo Thinkpad E14 Gen3 stuck on "To interrupt normal startup, press Enter" screen
                by BMCappelletti
                Hi everyone.
Lenovo Thinkpad E14 Gen 3, stuck on the "To interrupt normal startup, press Enter" screen.
Found a lot of people with this issue, but with no definitive answer. Some people managed to get away accessing BIOS, going to Startup and turning off "Option Key Display". For me that only removed the interrupt normal start up message, leaving only the Lenovo logo.
Most people say hitting Enter does not work. It's true, if you wait a few seconds. But if you hit Enter right away you get the options to enter BIOS (which works), run diagnostics (goes to a...

Macbook Air M2 A2681 Kernel panics after screen replacement
                by reformatt
Just had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".

It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...
