Re: SHARP LC-70LE550U - side driver issue?

but I think you still are not really giving the "whole story". First what model are you actually talking about?
The reason is that the equivalent vizio to the sharp 70 has the same "board structure"... the 60 DOES NOT.

Having said that, the "checks / tests" are the same, unplug a tcon cable, what happens? Repeat, doing the same for the other side? Next, you move to the corner cables, what happens there? These "checks" isolate whether you have an issue with the side or bottom tabs.... just unplug tcon cables does not give you a "complete view" of issues.

Having said that, when I was dealing with the sharp, unplugging part of the tcon did give some vertical lining on the side unplugged as opposed to blank white so it isn't necessarily totally unusual... I think. Hence, my thought that perhaps the tcon has an issue where something has happened to it. But again, the basic checks should help identify that. Further, the vizio tcon / system doesn't appear to have as good a shut down process once an error occurs, taking out certain "drive components" that need to be replaced to get it functional again.

One last point / question. The picture that you show is that AFTER removing the tab drivers on the side?

The panel had the same image with the side drivers attached but the definitive horizontal line was there.
I remote left side divers ( the original side that had the defect) the horizontal line /band is gone now but the vertical pattern is still there.
I'm going to purchase a new tcon.
            Cheers

I have the same 70 inch Sharp as in the subject. I followed the instructions and determined the LH side tabs need to be removed. It appeared to be going well until after I reassembled and I got the following picture. Could I have damaged the TCON in the process? The screen is also flashing.

Sharp Aquos LC-70C6400U Half Screen Dark
                  by scubacamper
I found another post on this site the other day which has been very helpful in troubleshooting this issue I am having with my tv. The left half of the screen is dark, and the other half is VERY slow to generate it's image - and it only generates part of its image at that.
Based on this yt video, I have narrowed it down to an issue (short?) on the left side of the display, somewhere in the system of ribbon cables.
when I remove the bezel and the rear cover, I can get the image to display correctly by manipulating the ribbon cables on the left side which connects the left lower display...

70LE660U dark cloud or black screen with sound.

                  Hello Everyone,

This is my first post so I will try to be as precise as possible without making this post too long winded. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the original problem but I included images of the TV internals.

I have a Sharp 70LE660U. The problem started a few months ago with the bottom row looking out of sync and was dark on the left side and then fading to transparent on the right side. Shortly after, a dark cloud appeared in the center of the screen. The dark cloud started small and shaded but the image was visible. It also affected the menu area....

                  Issue with Sharp LC-42SB45U
                  by claytongarcia
                  Hello everyone,

I recently got a model Sharp TV, and I've noticed that the green power LED is flashing without any specific pattern. Additionally, there appears to be no voltage coming from the power board. I haven't observed any leaking or bulging capacitors, although the top of the larger capacitor doesn't seem to be perfectly flush with the jacket—if that makes sense.

Has anyone dealt with this issue before?

when you try to reinstall the GPU you install the driver and all OK

but when you restart same thing (the GPU is there when you start the laptop and has the yellow exclamation mark in control panel)

some are telling that the bios need to be downgraded

i did try to re-flow the GPU twice just to be sure but no change at all

                  Issue with Sharp LC-47SB57UT
                  by leorivers
                  Hello,
I bought Sharp LC-47SB57UT 6 years ago. I had to have a vhf antenna to pick up one local station(koco channel 5 OKC). It has worked great up until a week ago. Sometimes I couldn't get channel 5, now I can't receive it at all. I can hook up a digital convertor box I have from another tv and can receive channel 5.
I think the antenna and cable is ok. I doubt that this would be the tuner board or possibly something else.

Any ideas where I should start?
