I have the same TV and had the same sound with no picture problem,
Got a replacement board and now I have a very unlit grainy picture, extremely hard to see.
Any thoughts?

The panel had the same image with the side drivers attached but the definitive horizontal line was there.
I remote left side divers ( the original side that had the defect) the horizontal line /band is gone now but the vertical pattern is still there.
I'm going to purchase a new tcon.

I have same issue but it also has a definitive line that seperates the dim from the normal.
I will check backlight voltages and post the findings.
It's just this TV is physically harder to move around for repair

Sorry for being vague.
It started with a faint horizontal band across the middle of the screen.
When I investigated, it had a side driver tab kinked under the lcd panel.
I took a credit card and freed it from under the lcd and like flicking a switch the picture went to the image I posted.
The picture is now vertical lines over the whole screen and it's quite psychedelic.
The pic posted last night is the whole tv both sides.
It has a single tcon with 2 ribbons.

You've been a incredible help.
Do I remove all them on the bad side as well or just the one I touched that made it screw up?
I also forgot to mention that the set was on when I touched the tab that made me lose the picture.

I also have a 70" Vizio that had a horizontal line.
I opened it up and there was a side tab caught folded under the lcd so I took a credit card and freed it up but the the picture went all vertical lines like an acid trip.
Could removeing the tabs solve the same issue even though there are no side driver boards on the Vizio just tabs?
The screen looks the same as the sharp did with the white ribbon disconnected and only that half of the tcon hooked upLeave a comment:

The only picture I could get at all was with the side drivers disconnected at the white ribbon at the bottom.
I tried all the combos from disconnecting each side from the tcon board one at a time and all other combos...
I said the he'll with it and removed the five tabs and both side driver boards.

There are two sets up the side.
Did you remove all of them all the way up? Or just one of the two...
My tv is doing the exact same thing on the right side while facing the screen.
I noticed that the copper connections from the board to the tabs is damaged by electrolysis.
I'm assuming due to humidity.
I'm willing to remove the driver board and it's tabs but just want to ask exactly what you did before I go that pot committed
