Just saw your video a good use for the old sky box laying about and a good effort on your first youtube video what software did you use for rendering it?

Re: How To Repair Led Backlight Strips Video !
I am trying to salvage LEDs from a Samsung 32 inch, and I CAN NOT get them off. The LED turns brown with a heatgun, it's frustrating, I really need those LEDs to fix this Sanyo TV. Any NEW LEDs ordered are not the right shade of white, and look yellow compared to the original LEDs. Other ones I have from ebay burn up after 5 mins. I really need to use LED from another TV.
Any ideas about stubborn LED's when trying to reuse them?
Also, what is the best method of adjusting the lenses to make them look right? Once I remove them and reattach them, they don't diffuse right and I get bright spots.Leave a comment:

Re: How To Repair Led Backlight Strips Video !
The circuit is series configuration so the LEDs don't really draw 400mA, the current is determined by the power supply which passes 400mA through them (constant current circuit.) To do this it increases the voltage until the LED current is around 400mA. I think you are confusing it as if all the LEDs were in parallel, but they are in fact in series and so the total current of one strip is just 400mA, at its nominal rating (~30VDC for example)Leave a comment:

You need to use 0.5w or even 1w type in pure white if yiu buy them off ebay.Leave a comment:

'Other ones I have from ebay burn up after 5 mins.' the current rating is probably too low, you need to use 200~400mA rating LED.Leave a comment:

Use flux mate really helps. Also do not out it on full heat keep it on low heat (about 380-400d) and turn the fan up quite fast they will come off in no time. Or if not take the strip out and heat the underside of it.Leave a comment:

Re: How To Repair Led Backlight Strips Video !
I Dont think its me that is confused Reeccey you were telling Telefixer that each LED would draw 400Ma in post 22, I was just putting you right and showing you if that were the case we were going to need a bigger power board ?Leave a comment:

Re: How To Repair Led Backlight Strips Video !
Current drawn from the wall plug is proportional to input voltage and load power. (So this thing using ~30W will pull roughly 30W/230V = 130mA from the wall)Leave a comment:

Re: How To Repair Led Backlight Strips Video !
No this has 11 leds between two strings which is 22 in total, so thats 30.4w between the two meaning that each Led dissipates what Tom said lol tell me im in the wrong but that is exactly just below what the driver is set to output.Last edited by ReeceyBurger123; 03-04-2016, 09:45 AM.Leave a comment:

Re: How To Repair Led Backlight Strips Video !
Think you going to need a bigger power supply in that one then. so lets say each string has 18 LEDs x 4 strings so thats 18 x 400Ma X 4 = come on boy work it out ? we and a bigger fuse in the plug and bigger cableLeave a comment:

Re: How To Repair Led Backlight Strips Video !
Not with the lower voltage , my testing shows just about the lowest they can be run at Is about 2.8-3.0v this is for one LED, when you get a string you will see up to 200Ma, this is why they need a forward currant of 200Ma but this must not be confused with rated currant consumed by each LED Yes you boy with your hand up sorry I though I was back in the class roomLeave a comment:

Re: How To Repair Led Backlight Strips Video !
I dont think that is right 400Ma. most LED string drives have a max of 200Ma for the total string ? If each LED is driven at about 2.6-8 volts you will see about 8-10MaLeave a comment:

Cheers buddyTom66 measured the current of each Led in a separate thread, its over 400ma on lowest brightness.

by Max514Hi all,
Ok so I have this beautiful un55h8000 samsung tv with sound but no video nor backlight. When turning the set on the red light blinks 5 times.
The screen shows no damage and backlight turns on when I disconnect the power supply from the main board. The tcon board only has 2 out of 3 leds on.
I came across this page and followed the different steps: https://techhometravel.com/samsung-u...ight-no-video/
- Unplugging the main board cable at the power supply >>> backlights came on.
- BLU_ON signal from the

by JaquesPrattI have a Vizio D32f-E1 LCD TV that does NOT have a TCON board.
This TV recently went through some 'death throes' and now won't boot. The first problem that began to manifest was while watching tv, the screen would 'freeze', and the image would dim over a few seconds until it was very dark. HOWEVER, the audio of the show would continue as normal. I could power off the TV for 5-20 seconds, power back on, and the video would be normal. This would occur 1-3 times when the TV was first started, and would not happen again after the TV was 'warmed up'. Not ideal, but this glitch was manageable.... -

by edugimenoHi! This TV was ready for the trash so I picked it up before it was thrown away
It's pretty new, so I thought I should give it a try. I plugged it in at home and I was expecting blown backlight as most of the TV's that get to me, but in this case it showed backlight with no video at all (no logo no menu no nothing).
TV seems internally responsive, drives stdby led red when OFF, responds to remote to turn on and off, but gets no image at all
Anything common on these sets to start with?
Thanks!... -
by avisonjohnI have an LG 34UM68 with board EAX66876002 but it has issues with not working correctly.
It powers on, backlight comes on, but there is no OSD shown, and no video shown on the screen.
I checked over the board for any obvious visual damage, and everything looked OK.
I then took a dump of the main SPI Flash chip.
I tried to take a dump from the EEPROM, but it would sometimes read data correctly, and other times would had obvious reading problems.
I managed to get a dump from it which somewhat resembled correct data - part of the...-
