    Lg 32lh30-ua

Having issues getting this set to start and run after changing the backlight brightness. I was having issues with it not "cold" starting after a power outage, but I was always able to get it to start after the second power on attempt. When I turn the set on, it attempts to turn the backlight on (I get 1/4 second or so of backlight) and then it shuts down.

    PSU voltages read as follows:

    24v: 21.88v
    12v: 10.86v
    5v: 5.12v

Under "first start" condition, 12 and 24v only read at around 1.5v and I have to restart the TV to get the voltages to come up to the respective 10.86 and 21.88v.

You need to check the voltage across the main reservoir capacitor it should rise to about 385v when the set fires up , if it does not the PFC circuit is not working and it is more likely to be surface mounted resistors fallen in value , I dont have the cct ref but they are easy to find on the back of the board there will be 3 0r 4 all in series from the reservoir capacitor to the PFC control chip, they will be something like 600 Odd K ohms from memory and there value is critical to the working of the set.

I actually did test those two caps. They both read 220v. I'll check that out when I make it home.

      Thanks!

Try heating the Psu with a hair drier see if the Tv comes on faster my bet is a bad startup cap.
