Re: Lg 32lh30-ua
I actually did test those two caps. They both read 220v. I'll check that out when I make it home.
Thanks!

Lg 32lh30-ua
Having issues getting this set to start and run after changing the backlight brightness. I was having issues with it not "cold" starting after a power outage, but I was always able to get it to start after the second power on attempt. When I turn the set on, it attempts to turn the backlight on (I get 1/4 second or so of backlight) and then it shuts down.
PSU voltages read as follows:
24v: 21.88v
12v: 10.86v
5v: 5.12v
Under "first start" condition, 12 and 24v only read at around 1.5v and I have to restart the TV to get the...

Re: Sharp LC-42SB45U No Picture, Sound or Response to Button Presses
Same results. 1/4 of a second flash then off the backlight goes. I checked 5v, 12v, and 24v to make sure they weren't falling out. They're all steady at their respective voltages.Last edited by Syryll; 09-04-2015, 11:53 PM.

Re: Sharp LC-42SB45U No Picture, Sound or Response to Button Presses
I decided to check the panel for cracks and backlight prior to ordering a mainboard. I've got 5v jumped to PS_ON and BL_ON with separate 1k resistors, and I just get backlight for about a quarter of a second when I plug the set in. Do I have to have something on the brightness pin as well, or is something else afoot?

Sharp LC-42SB45U No Picture, Sound or Response to Button Presses
Yet another dead TV I picked up to play with. As soon as I apply power to the set, I get a green light with a single flash, and then solid. I can't power the set off or anything.
As far as the connector from PS to the mainboard, these are the readings I get:
As per other posts, I've tested F1, F2 and F3 on the inverter board. All tested fine....

Re: Samsung LN46B550 No Startup
I checked all the diodes on the board. DP805 and 806 are fine. The only one that tested bad was DM810, which resides under the legend for CM802.Last edited by Syryll; 06-22-2015, 10:17 AM.

Samsung LN46B550 No Startup
I've got this Samsung TV laying around that doesn't work.
Standby light comes on when plugged in, as it should. When I attempt to power the TV on, I get the power-on sound the TV makes, no backlight and the standby light flashes 5 times and goes out.
I've read that Samsung TVs will power on the backlight if CN802 is disconnected when applying mains power. This isn't happening with this set. Not sure if this particular one has that "feature," but I figured it could be of note that I tried it.
Two big caps in the center read 157.7 at the legs...

Re: Vizio E320AR
Well before I go purchasing a main board, is there a way for me to bench test the supply/inverters and make sure the backlight works?...

Re: Vizio E320AR
PS-ON seems to be rising to about .4v and then falling to 0 over and over again....Last edited by Syryll; 04-27-2015, 10:39 AM.

Vizio E320AR
Hello!
I've got a Vizio 32" that does absolutely nothing. Orange standby light doesn't even come on. I took it apart and checked for +5v at the power supply connector to no avail. The 82uF 450v reads 362v if that helps at all. I'd like to know where to proceed from here.
Thanks!...Last edited by Syryll; 04-27-2015, 07:15 AM.

Questions about Delta DPS-199AP from Vizio VX32l
Found a 32" Vizio that wouldn't even show standby light. I opened it up and checked 5VSB, which read 0. After looking around on the power supply for a few minutes, I noticed a huge black spot by an IC. Pulled the heat sink off to find this:
And the back of this part of the board, for good measure:
I believe the full part number for that IC is ICE3B1565J.

Re: LED Modding Sharp PG-MB60LX Projector
L-Lit E reads GND, while L-Lit C reads 3.3v. There is no deviation from these readings throughout the start-up of the projector though, and the lamp light immediately starts flashing upon power up, so I'm not sure if I should take these readings as "lamp on." That being said, the ballast does attempt to ignite a bulb, even though there's not one installed. That crackling sound scares me to death

LED Modding Sharp PG-MB60LX Projector
I've enjoyed this trash-picked projector for about a year now with the bulb that came in it, but it finally blew. Being the lighting fanatic I am, I decided I'd try a 50w LED in place of the OEM bulb, but I need help figuring out what's what to fool the main board into thinking that there's a bulb present and lit.
I've found the factory service manual online, and found the Five wires leading to the ballast control, but I'm sort of lost in their labeling, and can't reach the ballast with the unit on to probe as the main board sits atop it and has connectors all around that must be...
