    Vizio E422VL-completely dead

    Hi everyone,

Need some help troubleshooting this vizio. The set appears completely dead with no Logo light and does nothing when pushing the power button. I have done some tests. The power supply appears to be working correctly. By isolating the power supply, I get the 5v standby. Once I connect only the mainboard to the power supply, I get 12v along with the 5v. The weird thing is the mainboard sends 2.2v on the power on/off pin even before hitting the power. That is why I have 12v before powering up the set. I have checked the voltage regulators and they function correctly. I am looking for ideas on troubleshooting this LCD.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Everyone,

Its been a while since I posted this. Has no one ever experienced this problem or know where to focus my testing?

So what you saying is that the PSon signal from the main board is "stuck on", but yet the TV won't power up? Looks like a main board problem to me.
      Try unplugging the IR board?

        Hey CapLeaker,

That's a good way to put it, its "stuck on" but will not power up. I agree with you, its the mainboard. I have shorted the PSon and backlight on with 1k resistors and the backlights came on. So, I figure that rules out the PS. I have tried unplugging everything except the PS and nothing changes. The fuses on the main board check out. The voltage regulators also check out. I am stump with this one.

There is a eeprom to be had at SJ, but it doesn't mention that symptom you have. So I guess you should look for a new main board.
You also could try heating (hair dryer) or cooling (can of air upside down). Freeze the eeprom, see what happens.

Or there is some problem with PSOn signal generation circuitry on mainboard, shorted transistor perhaps?

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                Assuming...

Acer Spin 1 SP111-33 Power-On Issue (Troubleshooting Assistance)
                by justice171
I am seeking guidance on an Acer Spin 1 SP111-33 that does not turn on when pressing the power button.

Below are the observations and troubleshooting steps I have taken so far: Observations and Tests:
                1. Verified that all critical voltages are present:
                  • 3.3V and 5V are always present if DC is plugged.
                  • 1.8V on the BIOS chip is present.
                2. Checked the power button functionality:
                  • When pressed, the voltage drops to 0V, indicating the button is functional.
                3. Inspected the flex cable connecting the USB, audio, and power button to JUB1:
                  • Confirmed connectivity is intact, ruling out issues

Power supply Manson NTP-5561 (5661) LCD controller dead - PIC18F87K90 HEX dump required
                by Andreas_de
                Hello!

i got a damaged Manson NTP-5561 (60V, 1,6A DC output) and and the main issue is that the controler IC for the LCD display has a short. The controler IC PIC18F87K90 is mounted on the back of the back of the LCD. Vss-Vdd = 3 Ohm. The 5V and 3,3V power line was killed as well, but that is not a problem. A new LDO 3,3V and 5V 7805 is already ordered.
Replacing the PIC18F87K90 is necessary but that makes no sense without having the HEX dump of the new controler.

Does anybody have such a power supply and could do a HEX dump of the Flash and EEPROM memory?

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

                >>> Troubleshooting Delta Power MAX 500ATX ATX power supply
                by dragon3x
Hi, this is for troubleshooting and, hopefully, repairing a Delta Power psu
that is still quite new, as it worked OK for some months until it failed.
At the time I was not into power supply electronics; it was put
aside and a new power supply installed inside the computer. Also at the time
power supplies were half the price of today's.

On the PCB there are a D339 and 7500B chips.

I have found that schematics with these 2 chips (see included file).
Does it represent the actual circuit of the MAX-500ATX, I cannot tell.

                Some measurements,...
