This tv works fine but after a few minutes it loses the picture. Backlights stay on, I'm thinking Tcon replacement but would like other peoples thoughts. I have the option of buying a Tcon or main board o ebay and would prefer to get the correct part first time round

Re: PANASONIC tx-cx400b Picture loss....
Much more likely to be the LED String Inside the panel....
I'm guessing it goes completely black. If so, use a strong torch and look at the panel at an angle--if you see the picture--The LED's are not working.TELEFIX

You fail to give screen size for your set? If the back light stays on as you say, then its not going to be the back light LEDs. you would need to see if all power voltages are still there when you lose the pictureComment

Re: PANASONIC tx-cx400b Picture loss....
The public know the name Panasonic and think top end as they were back in the day, But like all the rest, they have sold there name out to Vestal. The only good thing is the delivery drivers Tesco/ Asda/ Argos seem to like damaging the things so loads of parts out there when they do go wrongComment

Re: PANASONIC tx-cx400b Picture loss....
Yep Vestel crap with VES400 Lcd, probably lose connection in the Led strings. If the Lcd turns off but BL stays on I would suspect mainboard had a Hitachi which come on shown the logo, then no image on the with BL still on, was Mb issue.Last edited by ReeceyBurger123; 01-10-2016, 07:51 AM.Please Do Not PM My Page Asking For Help Badcaps Is The Place For Advise, Page Linked For Business Reasons Only. Hi,
I have a VIZIO E70-E3.
Symptoms: Black screen, no picture, but LED backlights are working.
I probed the power board and voltages are as listed on the board.
Main board appears fine, too.
I believe the problem is either a bad T-CON board, or connection to LCD, or bad LCD.
There are two separate ribbon cables feeding the LCD.
If both are connected, the screen is black.
If only the ribbon cable that feeds the right side of the screen (when viewed from the front) is disconnected, the left side of the screen shows picture and... -
by Bazfletch3Hi all
While I have quite a decent background in electrical & electronic troubleshooting & repairs, this is my first time stripping down an LCD TV for repair.... I have inherited a 3yr old Panasonic LCD which has a picture, but it is quite dark (too dark to be watchable - but still quite easy to see; I didnt need a torch to see it).
I started by checking and trying to adjust all of the picture and backlighting levels, but that made little to no difference. I also did a factory reset.
From there I envisaged that the backlighting wasn't working, however... -

i have a samsung lcd tv
it powers on with sound and backlight but no picture
all voltages from PS are good 12v 3.3v and 5v
whats odd is that at the tcon i tested voltage across the fuse on the tcon and i get 0v
i figured main board issue..so i ordered a used main board....when i put replacement main board in i still have same issue
no 12v at the tcon fuse
i disconnect the panel ribbon cables to rule out any panel issues and i still have no 12v at the tcon fuse
the odds of having 2... -
by x_orange90_xJust bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

by Tr0llHi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.
The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.
Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.
First replacement T-con:
I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)... - Loading...
