    PANASONIC tx-cx400b Picture loss....

This tv works fine but after a few minutes it loses the picture. Backlights stay on, I'm thinking Tcon replacement but would like other peoples thoughts. I have the option of buying a Tcon or main board o ebay and would prefer to get the correct part first time round

Much more likely to be the LED String Inside the panel....

I'm guessing it goes completely black. If so, use a strong torch and look at the panel at an angle--if you see the picture--The LED's are not working.

You fail to give screen size for your set? If the back light stays on as you say, then its not going to be the back light LEDs. you would need to see if all power voltages are still there when you lose the picture

The public know the name Panasonic and think top end as they were back in the day, But like all the rest, they have sold there name out to Vestal. The only good thing is the delivery drivers Tesco/ Asda/ Argos seem to like damaging the things so loads of parts out there when they do go wrong

Yep Vestel crap with VES400 Lcd, probably lose connection in the Led strings. If the Lcd turns off but BL stays on I would suspect mainboard had a Hitachi which come on shown the logo, then no image on the with BL still on, was Mb issue.

VIZIO E70-E3 Half picture with half TCON
                    by Fly_Among_Stars
                    Hi,
                    I have a VIZIO E70-E3.
Symptoms: Black screen, no picture, but LED backlights are working.
I probed the power board and voltages are as listed on the board.
                    Main board appears fine, too.
I believe the problem is either a bad T-CON board, or connection to LCD, or bad LCD.
There are two separate ribbon cables feeding the LCD.
If both are connected, the screen is black.

If only the ribbon cable that feeds the right side of the screen (when viewed from the front) is disconnected, the left side of the screen shows picture and...

Sony KD-75XF9005 grey Picture but Sound. TCON or panel?
                    by iglitare
                    Hi,

i want to repair a Sony KD-75XF9005 TV that initially only showed a grey picture.
Backlight seems to work, Sound (Setup menu after reset) works.
If i dissconnect the left FFC cable from TCON to panel i have half a screen on the right. If left cable is connected always only the grey screen.
Interchanged the cables, its always only the right side that is working. Always grey if left side is connected.
With my small knowledge i would think at least the cables are good.

Can this happen because of a bad tcon board?
Or is it always a bad/shorted...

Panasonic TH-65FX800A backlight LED's working but picture is very dark
                    by Bazfletch3
                    Hi all

While I have quite a decent background in electrical & electronic troubleshooting & repairs, this is my first time stripping down an LCD TV for repair.... I have inherited a 3yr old Panasonic LCD which has a picture, but it is quite dark (too dark to be watchable - but still quite easy to see; I didnt need a torch to see it).

I started by checking and trying to adjust all of the picture and backlighting levels, but that made little to no difference. I also did a factory reset.

From there I envisaged that the backlighting wasn't working, however...

Samsung LCD TV no picture backlight on no 12v at tcon
                    by shelby5041
                    hi
i have a samsung lcd tv

it powers on with sound and backlight but no picture

all voltages from PS are good 12v 3.3v and 5v

whats odd is that at the tcon i tested voltage across the fuse on the tcon and i get 0v

i figured main board issue..so i ordered a used main board....when i put replacement main board in i still have same issue

no 12v at the tcon fuse

i disconnect the panel ribbon cables to rule out any panel issues and i still have no 12v at the tcon fuse

                    the odds of having 2...

TCL 50S535 bad tcon or panel issue?
                    by x_orange90_x
Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...
