    Sanyo DP42848 ccfl info

Hello all, and first off thank you for all that you do here!

I'm working with a sanyo DP2848 tv, went through the 2 seconds to black info.

Dismantled TV, found one CCFL black, cracked and clearly blown. One more bulb on same triplet with a dark spot.

I am wondering if a failed CCFL will cause the 2 seconds to black alone, and if i remove the bad bulb(s) if the tv will function without. Or what I will need to do to bypass error detection.

If the tv will not funtion minus one or two ccfl's. then does anyone here have an accurate measurment for a replacement ccfl from ccflwarehouse ?
I can provide pictures if needed, and I'm also ready to do DVOM meter testing.

    Thank you all again!

All the lamps have to be good, it will only take one bad lamp for the protection circuit to kick in.

Do all of the CCFLs have to be installed for the system to work?

After removing the faulty CCFLs, i was able to keep the backlight on, I decided to reassemble the LCD but after installing the screen I'm back to the 2 sec to black.

Also, If I only run the top 4 CCFLs, they will stay on. As soon as I attach a 5th ccfl, it goes back to 2 sec to black. It doesn't matter which CCFL is the 5th. And any 4 will stay lit at one time.

Do you have the pictures of the boards, and the lamps to show us how all the lamps are driven?

This is the best I can do tonight. Can get better HD shots tomorrow.

note: there is no burning of the pcb, and no visible damage to any of the chipware. The power supply board is less than a year old as well as the key controller.

HANNSG Hi221 -- 2 secs to black feat. CCFL flicker & "burn" marks on power board
              by ttmi100x
              Greetings everyone,

I have a HANNSG Hi221 monitor that exhibits two seconds to black issues (backlight goes off, display is still on as confirmed by shining a flashlight on it) with some additional oddities...

The monitor failed on me with a standard "2 seconds to black" some time ago prompting me to initially replace most of the electrolytic capacitors (some of them were bulging/leaking).
Things kinda sorta worked for a night, then the problem returned along with some flickering and "buzzing" noises.

              Upon closer inspection...

Help on Samsung Syncmaster T220 dead ccfl lamp
              by mikey5791
              Hi,

This monitor previously is my main working monitor which i have been using for 8~9 years. Yesterday, when i switched on my pc from fresh to power on, the monitor is just black no display. I started dismantle to look inside the monitor power board but nothing looks suspicious or burnt. So i took my external ccfl inverter to try to power the monitor ccfl lamps which consisted of 2 lamps on upper part and 2 lamps on the lower part.

Found out the upper ccfl lamp which is supposed to connect to cn304 on the power board did not light up. Then i installed a used working...

Mystery 80s Sanyo cap - perhaps polymer?
              by cj_reha
Hey all I've been working on a 1984 Sanyo 27" color TV which had a smattering of bad caps in the video switching circuit. I found this oddball little 1uF 25V cap which looks to me like an early polymer, but I can't find concrete info proving it. I know Sanyo was a big player in early polymer cap development and this is the time period where they were just getting on the market, so I'm wondering if anyone has crusty old datasheets that could help identify it and determine if my suspicions are right? It has the same epoxy end seal and font/formatting as some old stock Os-Cons I've got laying...

              Sony KDL-46BX450 Inverter Troubleshoot Logic
              by caseyjay_48
I am currently on a troubleshoot of 46” Sony KDL-46BX450 tv. I came back from Washington to Texas on medical emergency and had to leave all my tools up there. All I have is a couple of screwdrivers and a dvm. I wish to ask the community a troubleshooting question. Please forgive stupid questions as meds I am taking produce brain fog.
I have well maintained Sony KDL-46BX450. It went black one day. After turn-on, I get solid green light and Sony logo in screen center for about 1-2 seconds, then black. No blinking LEDs, no hissing. Flashlight test shows screen characters dimly viewable,...

              Sanyo DP5834 - Gray Screen
              by toddw65
              Hey All,

I have a Sanyo DP5834 that did have an issue with the backlights, but I disassembled the unit and repaired the LED strips by resoldering all of the connectors. Now I've reassembled it and I have backlights and sound, but a grayish screen. I can tap on the screen and see that it's on, but no picture. All voltages seem to be correct on the power board.

Based on the LCD Flat panel TV troubleshooting guide by Bud Martin, I'm thinking the T-Con has failed because I'm getting 12v both into and out of FP1 on the T-Con. Am I on the right track?

              Thanks,...
