I did see that. It looks like I have to try to get the TV to work well enough to get it connected to the internet and then hope the TV recognizes it needs new firmware, downloads and installs it properly.

My issue is now fixed! I decided to reset the TV back to factory settings, which also cleared out the memory. I followed the instructions in the manual and let the TV do it's thing and shut itself down. I waited about an hour and turned it back on and the menus displayed quickly and I could moved around just like it was new.

I do see a one pixel green vertical line from top to bottom though. Argh!

I spoke too soon. The ONLY time the menu works is when the input is on TV. HDMI 1,2,3,4, Comp/AV, makes the menu agonizingly slow again and eventually shuts down the TV. I think I'm going to give up.

I left the modem plugged into the tv for a while, and when I turned the tv on, there was a message stating the firmware had been upgraded. The tv now works perfectly (except for that 1 pixel green vertical line). Case closed!

As I said earlier a firmware update solved my identical problem. Glad to see it back in use.

Yep, I wish I would have tried that earlier. Thanks for the help.
