Also, on this motherboard schematic I can't find any reference to Ts0P; is it called something else? Where would I go to follow its circuit and troubleshoot it?Leave a comment:

I did; I don't think its the trackpad or cable; I swapped motherboards with another macbook and the anomaly remained; different chassis, different cables, different keyboard, trackpad, etc; and same anomaly; also, the known good motherboard works fine on this system; so I don't think it's an issue with trackpad....Leave a comment:

Isn't that related to palm rest/trackpad?
I already tried another palm rest/trackpad, and same anomaly happens. I also tried this one on another board and it works fine.
Maybe Ts0P on this motherboard relates to something different. Can you give me a little more please?...Leave a comment:

Yes, a suitable USB type C power adapter is being used; I have tried three genuine apple power adapters and a couple of 3rd party ones, 90w+, and they all do the same anomaly. They will all negotiate to 20v. Also, they all work fine on the other known good working mackbook; the machine works fine at full speed with all of them.
As for the voltage readings you asked:

Its 03:12 right now; so yeah, a bit late. But I prefer it; I tend to work the "graveyard shift".
Sorry for not posting that info in the first place, silly me. Motherboard is a 820-00840-A.
I had already previously reviewed that (and many other) video(s) from Louis; that's why I swapped motherboards just to rule out any issue with the display; I even followed that specific video troubleshooting steps, with no luck....Leave a comment:

Hi forum.
I'm working on a macbook pro, model a1708, that is running extremely slow.
Everything on it seams to work just fine, it just works extremely slow; painfully slow; especially running macos (windows and linux actually run OKish on it, slow, but usable).
One other symptom of the problem with the machine is that the fan is always running at full speed.
This machine has been worked on by someone else previously; they tried to repair it, but with no success. The motherboard does have sings of being worked on, but it all looks good/OK; like... -
