Sony Bravia kdl-42w705b sound and backlight but no picture

As above guys, any common causes? Set turns on and backlight can be seen though screen stays black/blank.. T-con/main fault?
Haven't actually got my hands on this one yet, hopefully collecting it tomorrow..

You need to check the DCV between chassis GND and both ends of the SMD fuse on the T-CON board.

DCV between chassis GND and both sides of t-con fuse is 12v.. Any ideas?

Right, just connected this TV up to another set via the av out and low and behold there is a picture..

So t-con or panel?

Any way of testing the t-con further? It's getting 12v and the smd fuse is fine. I have another t-con ordered, but I wouldn't mind trying to repair this one if possible

Hi there,

i'm on same boat. There is a backlight, but screen remains blank. When power on just hear sound from tuner about 1 sec and then stops.
No any red error codes from diode, except powered it up without (disconnected TCON cable) to get 5 red blinks.
Already tested T-CON and getting 12v both sides of the fuse. So same situation - Main BAXL board or TCON? Any ideas?

I had one of these shorted MLCC on the Tcon not easy to find.

Hi guys, did anyone manage to work out the fix for this? Could the LDVS cable cause this?

old post but did you fix this tv? I have same problem.

I replaced another T-con and still nothing,I think that panel is bad.
