    Sony KDL-52XBR6 screen problems

    Hello all,

My name is Robert I'm an electrician and HVAC mechanic attempting to fix my Sony TV and hoping to get some assistance with trouble shooting a screen problem. Its a Sony KDL-52XBR6 that was manufactured in Oct. of 2008. The TV screen still has a complete picture but has segmented squares with vert/horiz lines in each box. I have a feeling its the TCON, the set disassembled, checked ribbon cables and connections at the tcon and around the complete lcd screen with no changes in picture. see photos attached. any help or advice is appreciated!

    TCON is #404652ASNC6L V4.5

I'd certainly reckon it's the T-Con. I had the almost same model of Sony Bravia and it was T-Con that had shut the whole TV down. Got a second-hand board that was defective. I had left half perfect and right half looked just like you have here. If you do replace the T-Con let us know how it goes.

Thank You dkneyle, I am looking for a replacement Tcon board, have not found one as of yet. I did locate an individual who claims to refurbish/rebuild your defective board, comes with a one year warranty for $130.
With the Ultra high def tv's out and on sale for the holidays, I'm not so sure I want to dump $130 into this old girl?

No, I wouldn't invest $130 into her. And I seriously wonder about claims of repairing T-Con board. I know some guys on this forum do fix 'em, but they are really serious SMT technology boards normally treated as a disposable item when failed. If I was you I'd put it aside and just keep a search out for a T-Con board; surely one will pop up on E-Bay etc eventually? Are you searching on the T-Con part number rather than model of TV? Remember, the T-Con is matched to the panel, so it will be used in a variety of models of TV.

Sony 8K XBR-75Z8H White Screen Vertical Bars Tcon Code. Help Needed🙏
          by Daren87
          Hello everyone,

I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the...

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
          by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

Lg TCon test pins for screen test
          by alltvrepairs
          Hi,
i have a 65 Panasonic TX-65HX710E using vestel 17MB170 main and Lg tcon.

Few drops of water fell probably near COF and have no display. Tried removing tabs but no.part of display present as if tcon fuse open. However 12v is present and tcon can be felt warm enough that supplies are present. Backlight and sound ok.

Anyone knows if this TCon 6870c-0805A has any special test pins for rgb test?

          Appreciate your help....

Sony KD-55XG9505 lines on screen problem
          by Chrissygizmo
          Hello again everyone,

This is my latest mission, to try getting this Sony tv back to normal working order…

I've only just got it today, when you power it up everything is as should be, in fact it works perfectly for a few minutes then the screen starts getting horizontal lines on & eventually the full screen goes back, I will upload photos of the problem & also some photos of the board etc. You might notice that I'm busy trying the tape method, I'm not sure exactly where the clock lines are so I'm just guessing & hoping for the best lol . I've already tried...
