    Sanyo DP52449

I picked up a Sanyo DP52449 and it has a darkest blue screen not real dark but it seems maybe a little darker than normal. Also real choppy noise from the speakers. Have not done anything at all with it. Just wondering if the panel was bad would it still light up blue?

Well now after I really got into it, It actually looks like a a really light washed out look. The bright dots on the screen is just a reflection and nothing to do with he screen.

How do you know if the actual screen is bad and not a board?

Could it be T-CON issue? Do you get voltage to the T-CON and what are the VGMA voltages on it?

That is what I was leaning towards. I thank you for your reply. I have not really got into it. Would you mind telling me how to check what you said. Can I check it with a regular volt meter? Also may I ask if there is anything I can do to rule out the actual screen itself before I start throwing money into it?

Got around to checking this TV today and could not figure out how to test the T Conn board. The TV lights up with like a light blue screen, It has great sound. Screen never did anything different though. So it is either the T CONN board or the board that sends signal to the screen. Could it be that board even though it puts out sound? Please reply soon.

                  Re: Sanyo DP52449

i have this same exact problem. backlight comes on, chopped noise sound coming from speakers (that is, until it quit now it doesnt do it anymore).
i have checked all correct voltages coming from power board to main board so far.
i have uploaded the service manual i found.
this looks to be a nice tv and i'd like to get it working to use. picked it up when some ppl were moving.

also, since the speakers were outputting chopped noise and the speakers come directly from the main board, wouldnt that indicate the problem is on the main board and not any other? number on the tuner sticker is N7KE.

Have you checked the voltages as given on page 5 of the manual?

i checked the voltages as shown and they are correct with the tv on. except that i couldnt find ic1680 or ic1670 (it has a * on schematic and is not populated on board) and ic6750 is on the 120hz board and is under a heatsink.

A new T conn board did not fix mine. So it is sitting in the garage for now.

Here is a pic of the board. How can I test the board. If anyone has one of these that is guaranteed to be good and the price is right I will be interested. Please reply.

Have you checked the fuse on the Tcon board to see if it has a dc voltage on both sides?

                            Edit
I see that you have replaced the Tcon but it would be worth checking the voltage to it.

With the set on and out of standby you can check it by testing the voltage at both sides of the fuse with your voltmeter set to DC. Black meter lead on the chassis and red meter lead to each side of the fuse in turn. The fuse should be marked something like "F1"

Good for you! I ordered another Tconn board from Ebay and installed it and no luck. Maybe I got a bad board, Who knows! Can someone look at my board and tell me where to check it? I dont see a fuse on it anywhere.
