    Sony KDL-40EX723 - 2 Blinks

hi all, just got this in, now it seems like a common fault but I cant seem to find the schems in the Service Manual

Ive found that the R6548 Ceramic Resistor of 0.1 ohm/1J6 has Blown - now before I change this I was wondering if I should be checking any thing else other than the obvious Transistors that normally short, ive had the meter on them all and nothing seems to be out the ordinary from what I can tell

    any advice would be great

Have you checked the transistors ?

Its very unlikley thats just the ceramic resistor has blown.

      Re: Sony KDL-40EX723 - 2 Blinks

      Ive diode checked across them....

from left to right pins...... 1+2 I get 0.65v on diode and 2Meg ohm resistance
1+3 I get 0.17v on diode and 330K ohm resistance
2+3 I get 0.5v on diode and 2Meg ohm resistance

thats on both of them in the 2nd pic

Have you check continuity normally they short and the fuse goes..

anyone know what the difference between a ceramic and a welwyn resistor is? and if it will be ok using that instead, cant find one of the little ones the same as pictured :-(

That is the fusible resistor, so you have shorted out component on the output side of the resistor which will be the power MOSFET Q6101, 6104, 6701, 6702.

just tested Q6701 and Q6702 and its 0 ohms across all pins will remove tomoz and retest :-)

I didnt test them I must of missed them 2, but thought Id tested them......doh!

Just repaired my Sony Bravia 40ex723

Similar fault on my Tv with the 2 blinking lights error code

Removed the power board from the Tv and found the fusible resistor and 2 mosfets to be the cause of the failure

The mosfets to be replaced are MPNSTP9NK50ZFP
The fusible resistor is a 0.5W 0.1 Ohm 1/2 WATT

All these items can be found on eBay for around £11 inc p&p

Sony KD-65A1 Repair – 4 Red Blinks Error
                        by AK_777
                        Hi everyone!
I have a Sony KD-65A1 TV with a fault – 4 red LED blinks. After disassembly and visual inspection, I found that the G76 power board and DKA board had been replaced. It is also possible that TCON was replaced, but I am not sure – there are a few marker marks that could be factory-made.

Based on assumptions, the previous service attempted to solve the issue by replacing potentially faulty components. I decided to investigate further, found a service manual, and figured out a way to power up the power supply unit autonomously and put the OLED panel and...

                        Sony A1e 5-blinks help
                        by jchon
Hi I'm new to trying to repair TVs, but I saw a broken OLED offered for a reasonable price and thought I'd try my hand at it.

I found the service manual, which was critical to know where to probe.
                        https://www.manualslib.com/manual/20...1e-Series.html

With it I was able to determine that my DKA board was bad, when P_ON#1/2 gets enabled REG_12 on the DKA board collapses. I'm assuming one of the downstream regulators has a short, but I couldn't work out which rail/component and replaced the DKA board entirely.

                        Unfortunately the 5-blinks...

                        by Nicktronic
                        Hi all,

I have the subject TV and it will work normally sometimes but suddenly go black and give the 2 red blinks blink code. When this happens, I check the power supply board voltages and all I have is the Standby 3.3V and BL_ERR 2.2V. When it's working normally, all power supply board voltages look normal and stable. I've checked the backlights with a tester and they all test good. I've also read that the 2 red blinks is a faulty power supply board, so could it be throwing up an erroneous BL_ERR?

Any Sony experts out there that can help??...

Sony 75X9400E TV.. 5 Red blinks
                        by dumbdd
I was using this TV for 5 years before it stopped working. I like this TV and would love to fix it myself.*

When I press the power button, the white led comes on (sony calls the module smart core) and then it switches over to 5 red blinks. No screen, no backlight, no relay click, nothing. I have disassembled the tv and found the service manual for 75x940e online. The manual suggests a faulty power board, TCON or the panel.**

The standby pin is at 3.3V. Fuses on the mainboard and TCON are fine. Caps on TCON also seem to be fine. When I turn on the tv the white led...

                        Sony XR-55X90J 4 blinks
                        by Nicktronic
Hey guys, got this Sony that turns on momentarily and then goes black with 4 blinks of the standby light. I can't find a service manual, but best guess was the Local Dimming board based on a similar TV saying LD_ERR or BCM_ERR. I found a replacement, but it didn't work. Before I put more money into replacement boards, Im wondering if anybody has seen this issue and what worked for them, or has the service manual for this specific TV.

                        Thanks!...
