OK, you do have main DC for the SMPS power supplies to run, so now we have look at the STBY SMPS section next to see if that section is getting the DCV to run that section, there may be fusible resistor for feed the DCV to that section.

ok that 2nd fuse might be bad, taken it out and not getting any continuity. The main near the main caps

            it blew up lol

I might have done something stupid, was a ceramic 3.15a time delay fuse. I only had T8a ceramic fuses. so tried it with that and looks like something has blown scaring the day lights out of me!!

transistor below the ac power in

Might just order a replacement power supply, only £25?

Aah that looks bad! Yes get a replacement and see if it works or not. Im almost certain that the ps is bad.

Let us know if it works.

do you think it would have worked if I had put in he right amp fuse? or possibly a fault elsewhere too.

I'm guessing fuse let too much current flow which blew the two mofsets?

Could have worked , maybe the fuse was bad. You used the wrong fuse with the result that TO much current in very short time traveled though the board and it blew up lol

So get a replacement board or those parts on the board with a new fuse. You dont have any spare ps? Like a scrap board? They often use the same fets

You have blown up PFC Voltage booster power MOSFET. That MOSFET was OK before you replace the second fuse (FM801S) for the output of the boosted Voltage otherwise you would not have 170VDC on the main cap before.
So beside blown up MOSFET for the PFC, you more likely have shorted parts on the output side of the fuse.

Fuse is there to prevent over voltage in case something is wrong, the fact that it sent too much power to blow up the mosfet means something was wrong with the board anyway? Because if I had the correct 3.15a fuse that would have blown again?

"Fuse is there to prevent over voltage in case something is wrong,' For over current protection, not Voltage..
You have shorted load so it trying to draw too much CURRENT so the fuse blown.
You need to test the parts on the output side of the fuse to see any one of them show low resistance.
The LOAD dictates how much current it will draw from power supply, the power supply must have current supply capability to supply to the load as needed.

I'm just going to order a replacement used part, as I think to repair this its going to cost quite a bit. £5 just for the 2x mosfets and anything else extra damaged. Plus the original problem.

Hope a new power supply does the job!

Gutted I blew up the old board, was probably an easy fix too!

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                      Need help.

I have a samsung un60j620dafxza led tv. When I plug it in it has no display, no sounds, and no standby lights.

So I opened the tv and disconnected the power to the mainboard and the backlight powered up. This according to many people says that this is a mainboard
problem. I checked the voltage coming from the stb and I read 1.3 volts on pins 1,3,5 and 7 which are low volts instead of 13 volts which i think the lcd panel
might be drawing too much power from the power supply that it prevents the right voltage going to the mainboard....

                                      Hi

Picked up another TV. Samsung UN43NU6950FXZA. No power and no standBy led on. Removed back cover and:
                                      Main fuse = OK
Back light LED = OK. Power them with aux power source
                                      LED output = OK 156V
I do get 12 V DC out of the power supply going to the digital section but no 5V or 3.3V. PS_on voltage is only 1.8V. I have looked everywhere on the PCB , I could not find i reference for 5V output.
Also removed connections to panel, speakers and remote but no luck. One strange thing is that even with the LED power supply working, backlight LED do not turn on...

test active pfc power with lamp test

                                      Hello
I have a big problem and that is that in some cases when repairing active pfc power supplies I cannot work with a test lamp. I can only get help with 5 volts standby and for starting and starting I have to work without a lamp and this way there is a possibility of parts exploding and other parts being added.
Sometimes with a multimeter test the problems can be reduced to some extent, but I had several cases that had to be tested on and online and recently two varistors exploded. They had terrible resistance because the power supplies were over 800 watts.
                                      Is there a way...

Hi everyone and thanks in advance for any help I might get here

My Samsung TV is about 4 years old. The exact model number is UE75MU7009TXZG.
About half a year ago I started seeing occasional green frames pop up while watching movies. I mean literally green frames. Not the image turning green, but the entire screen turning green for a split second. This happened maybe once or twice during a 2 hour movie. So no big deal, but clearly something was not quite right.

Since a few days, the TV won't turn...
