    troubleshooting samasung PN60F8500AF

    Hello,
I need some help troubleshooting a Samsung PN60F8500AF Plasma tv. It does not turn on, just has a red flashing standby light when plugged in. I did some basic troubleshooting on my own. I removed the back panel, looked for any bad caps, burnt looking parts and tested the fuses, all looked good.
From their, I took some voltage readings with a MM. While the unit is plugged in, I tested all the voltages throughout the board at all plugs/connectors and found voltages matching stated ranges, except the VS AND VA voltage and this is where I need help.
I took readings right from the main power supply board/SMPS at the VS/VA test points and also from connectors at the X- board and Y-board connectors. VS should read 210v, but only reads 11v and VA should be 60v and reads 0v. Now when I first plug in the unit both read proper voltage for an instant, then gradually drop down to the low voltages I've found. Is that normal?
I also tested the connectors from the power supply into the logic/main board
standby has 5.2v and PS-ON has .02v, but ps-on reads 3.1v while the unit is unplugged.
I also tested continuity/resistance at all the y-board to y-buffer and x-board to x-buffer connections. All connections has no continuity/resistance to ground, except 2pins (pin #2 & #3 from the top)on the x-board upper most connector. I've included some pictures of the board, connector and the main tv itself.
As all of you know, this is expensive tv and would love to get it up and running again. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

Not familiar with this set but you can try to disconnect the ymain to see if VA and VS return then replug and try again this time unplugging the xmain. If the set doesn't detect the missing boards you may be able to isolate the problem.

I disconnected x-board from x-buffers with no change, then reconnected. disconnected y-buffers from y-main board and bingo, all VS/VA voltages read what they should be. Connected y-buffers separately and seems the lower y-buffer is shorted.
Do I have to replace them as a pair?
      Thanks for the advice.

No reason to just replace the faulty one.

Well that was ambiguous lol. I meant just replace the faulty board. Btw, do you get a pic on the upper half of the screen with the lower buffer removed ?

Yes, got a picture with lower Board disconnected, so that seems to be the problem. Found the entire y-board set(all 3 boards ) on eBay for $85, so going to swap all of them. Thanks for the help mmartell, much appreciated!
I'll post how it turns out when new boards are in.
