Panasonic TX-L42D25B 4 flashes - bad LED backlight

I got for repair Panasonic TX-L42D25B. Symptoms: When TV is turned on, the green status LED flashes rapidly for a few seconds, then TV flashes the screen for a second and goes into standby. Red LED starts to blink 4 times in a row.

The service manual indicates that 4 flashes point to a SUB_F_12V failure. I checked 12V supply and found it to be steady at ~11,8V while the set tries to power on (green LED blinking), then it turns off as the TV goes into standby.

To try and isolate the problem to a single board, I started disconnecting cables to other parts of the TV one by one. Nothing changed by disconnecting T-CON board. When I disconnected the XW board the blink code changed to 7 or 10.

However, when I disconnected one of the LED backlight cables, the TV started up and worked perfectly fine. Except the screen was bright at the top and dimmer at the bottom.

So I disassembled the screen to check the backlight LEDs. I'm attaching pictures of what I had found. One LED was visibly damaged at one corner. However, a lot of other LEDs have some oxides or something "growing" from their legs in a fractal pattern, like branches of a tree. Even a lot of the LEDs at the top which are working seem to be growing these "branches".

I have never seen this before. Does anyone know why it is happening?

Failed Leds are very common. You can either replace the whole strip or replace the failed Led.

        Hi,

Did you get the TV repaired with new LED in the end?

I might have a similar problem.

Panasonic LED TV TC-40A420U - Replaced Backlight LEDs but now no image/display or garbled
            by signal.quest
I have a Panasonic LED TV TC-40A420U. The TV was given to me as an attempt to fix or throw out. I replaced the Backlight LEDs and now the screen lights up, but there is no image/display. If I play with the up/down buttons I can get the display to change from black to garbled. I can't get sound from HDMI but not sure of what input is selected. I have no remote control. When I connect a laptop to the HDMI ports it recognizes a Panasonic TV for display and sound output but I can't see or hear anything through the TV. This makes me think the mainboard is OK, but not sure if mainboard can...

Corsair K70 LUX RGB dying LEDs
            by Pipolups
            Hi there !

I'm having an issue for several weeks with my quite old K70 LUX RGB keyboard. I haven't used it for few months, and once I setup up again my desktop computer, I got several dead LEDs on that keyboard. I tried the Corsair troubleshooting thing (disabling options in iCUE, ...) but nothing changed so I conclude that for some reason some LEDs went in retirement...πŸ˜…
Decision taken to change these LEDs as I have access to desoldering iron and binocular magnifier, I wrote a ticket to tech support, hopping to obtain the LEDs reference and... They refused to tell me πŸ™„...

Panasonic TC-P55ST50 8 blinks then no blinks
            by Andre Gilbert
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing hereπŸ€”?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting πŸ˜‚.

Problem with PANASONIC CF53 laptop after changing BIOS settings
            by AquaMan Ua
Hello. I am asking you for a hint on how to solve the problem with my touchbook Panasonic CF53-2 standart model. After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...

Sony OLED XR-77A80J - 5 Flashes But Turn On After Hard Reset
            by odie34
I am a hobbyist (not a professional) so please be gentle...

I recently received an XR-77A80J that wouldn't turn on. (Repeating 5 flashes when plugged in.)

I did a hard reset by holding the power button for about 30 seconds until the set powered down. I then tried to turn it on and it powered up, bringing me to the setup screen. There's not a lot of detail on the setup screen but the picture didn't have any distortions, so at least a cursory examination suggests no physical damage to the screen. The set appeared to be working normally, but it shut down after about 15 seconds,...
