  • Re: Marshall Stanmore Repair

Can anyone tell the values of R23 (a small smd resistor near the big transformer, next to the optocoupler) and U15 (the amplifier IC under the heatsink on the backside of the PCB)?

I marked the locations of them in my photos....

Have you checked the fuses? Based on other replies in this thread, these could be o/c.

Here are pictures of PSU and other boards.

There is a service manual with schematics for this TV available here:...

  • Panasonic TH-42PA50E turning off, 4 blinks

Panasonic TH-42PA50E turns off after a few minutes or seconds. When powered for the first time after long time of no use, it works for a few minutes, then turns off. Red LED in front flashes 4 times.

If I try to turn the TV off and on again, it works for less than a second and turns itself off again. Sometimes blink code changes to 1 or 2 blinks, usually it's 4 blinks.

Sometimes the LED in front flashes rapidly as if starting up, but the TV does not turn on.

Blink code 4 means "Power SOS". However, I can not find any obvious fault in the PSU. When...

Philips 32PFL9604H/12 has ~80% of the screen dark, the other 20% of the image is fine. Vertical stripes slowly appear on the dark part of the screen.

I found that if I touch parts of T-con near the IC TPS65162 (Compact LCD Bias IC With High Speed Amplifiers) the image appears on a part of or whole screen. However, that part of the image is dark and still has a few horizontal lines.

I disassembled the LCD panel and tried touching and tapping flex connections to the LCD. This did not bring any change whatsoever.

Has anyone encountered such a problem?...

  • Panasonic TX-L42D25B 4 flashes - bad LED backlight

I got for repair Panasonic TX-L42D25B. Symptoms: When TV is turned on, the green status LED flashes rapidly for a few seconds, then TV flashes the screen for a second and goes into standby. Red LED starts to blink 4 times in a row.

The service manual indicates that 4 flashes point to a SUB_F_12V failure. I checked 12V supply and found it to be steady at ~11,8V while the set tries to power on (green LED blinking), then it turns off as the TV goes into standby.

To try and isolate the problem to a single board, I started disconnecting cables to other parts of the TV...

  • Re: Sharp LC32D44E-BK Stuck in standby mode

I got Sharp LC32D44E-BK for repair.

Thank you tom66 for the video you posted with instructions on how to get into the service mode. It really helped to troubleshoot this TV.

Initially I measured the resistance of secondary windings of the inverter transformers. Two of them had ~2.660k ohms resistance and three of them had ~2.560k ohms resistance. So the difference is ~100ohms.

This is why I started to suspect the inverter transformers to be faulty. However, thanks to all the comments about faulty...
