Visiting mom in NC. Her RCA L42F does not respond to the remote. Pressing any button on the remote makes the blue power light on the TV flicker to green. Obviously receiving some type of signal but TV not responding to the commands. Trying to change input. Any suggestions? Thanks.

by tmhobadcapI have this receiver for at least 10 years. Usually, we just use the remote for turning on/off and adjusting the volume. Recently, the remote control started not able to turn the receiver on. Later, the volume also could not be adjusted by the remote control.
At first, I thought that it was the usual problem which can be fixed by cleaning the contacts on the switches and the pcb. I opened the remote and clean it with alcohol. The remote did work again after that. But after one day, it did not work again. I opened it again and clean with alcohol and contact cleaner. Again it worked... -
by CdDvdFlashFor this Dick Smith TV GE6878 (Thompson) I replaced the broken remote with a universal it kinda works though if its more than a few meters away sometimes the buttons register and sometimes they wont so I bought another remote from another brand and it has the same problem, I've had an old TV in the past that the sensor died completely and I replaced it to fix it could this be a similar problem? I tried looking for a service manual, spare parts for a receiver and a parts list but I couldnt find any info. can someone please help me to find the info online for a service manual or where I can buy...

by dorfmanIm working on a 10 year old 32" Samsung LCD that the remote suddenly stopped working. No response from the tv and no blinking standby led. Its not the remote. I tested it on another Samsung TV and its fine. The IR sensor is on a separate board with the capacitive touch buttons. The buttons worked so I figured the main board was good and it had to be the IR receiver. I tried swapping the IR / touch board with another one. Still no response.
I'd like to try a main board diagnosis/repair because it would be a shame to trash the TV just cause of the remote. The panel still looks... -
by TyMercerApologies if this is the wrong forum, but I'm not looking for a specific BIOS file, I'm trying to understand how one makes a clean BIOS file. So here's the background. I have 2 HP EliteDesk 800 g2 mini 35w pcs. One is working fine; the other doesn't have display out or working USB's nor does it have any flashing error lights. The CPU does get worm enough to cause the fan to spin up, so I think it's posting, but I just don't know. I had it working at one point but trouble started when I tried to put in a drive caddy that had a cooling fan on it. I thought it would be compatible but wasn't...

by cstoutHello all, I've been looking into this portable air conditioner's remote control and can't find what could be causing the problem - or possibly this remote is just terribly designed.
The remote only works at exactly 3V - if I drop it any lower, using my bench power supply, to say, 2.9V then the remote will not flash the display and turn off. I don't have any AAA batteries that are exactly 1.5V each so I'm not sure if this remote is designed this way - to only use the freshest possible batteries, or if there's a failed component in the mix.
I can't find any schematics... - Loading...
