Re: Dell Harman Kardon Dead Left Speaker
Update:
The left speaker died again and I replaced the TDA1517 and the same problem persists. So for anyone who has the same symptoms. Replacing this chip wont fix it.

Re: Dell Harman Kardon Dead Left Speaker
I saw the thread you authored about replacing the caps to fix the bad sound from 2011. Are you still using the speakers?
The sticker on the bottom of mine says Rev. A00. So the values may be different from yours. It seemed like the big caps in the corners were problematic. Mine aren't showing visual defects. Yet...
I think I slipped with the probe and jumped some pins while measuring voltages and that woke the amplifier up. There was some popping sounds from the speakers and when I played something it was back...

Re: Dell Harman Kardon Dead Left Speaker
I thought about reflowing the brown connector to the left speaker too but I wiggled it and the sound didnt come back at all. Not even a crackle. So I figured that probably wasnt it.
Plus given the strange increase in volume of the right speaker and lack of volume control I wouldnt suspect a bad phono jack to the left speaker could cause that.
While measuring the voltages at the tda1517p just now the sound starting coming out of the left speaker again. The pin 7 voltage was 15V. That seems high considering the...

Dell Harman Kardon Dead Left Speaker
Working on an early 2000s dell / harman kardon computer speakers.
Suddenly only the right speaker works. No sound is coming out of the left. Also, the right is much louder than when both speakers were working. The minimum volume setting sounds much louder than where I previously set it (half way). And the loudness difference between minimum and maximum position on the knob is small compared to when both were working.
I checked the signal wire for continuity from the board to the jack. Both channels and the ground are continuous with low resistance and not shorted...

Re: Samsung LN32C350 Remote not Working
With the connector to the IR board unplugged the voltage on the IR pin on the main board is 2.4V. Wondering if thats typical? And Im also questioning if the replacement IR board is any good.

Re: Samsung LN32C350 Remote not Working
There is no change in the voltage on kin1 or kin2 while pushing the remote. They stay at 3.2V.
Something I just noticed on the replacement IR board is the voltage on the IR pin is only 2.4V. The voltage on kin1 and k1in2 is 3.2V. No voltage changes when pressing the remote buttons. Whereas the IR pin on the original is 3.2V. I dont know if the difference is meaningful because the remote doesn't work with either....

Re: Samsung LN32C350 Remote not Working
Yes. There was 3.2V measured at the main board connector that goes to the IR/touch board. I tried to see a signal coming from the IR board while pressing buttons on the remote but it remained at 3.2V. I dont have a scope and maybe my multimeter isn't fast enough....

Samsung LN32C350 Remote not Working
Im working on a 10 year old 32" Samsung LCD that the remote suddenly stopped working. No response from the tv and no blinking standby led. Its not the remote. I tested it on another Samsung TV and its fine. The IR sensor is on a separate board with the capacitive touch buttons. The buttons worked so I figured the main board was good and it had to be the IR receiver. I tried swapping the IR / touch board with another one. Still no response.
I'd like to try a main board diagnosis/repair because it would be a shame to trash the TV just cause of the remote. The panel still looks...
