I have a SONY KDL-50W656A what i bought thinking might need a new tcon board as the tv lit up without picture but later realised this set didn't have at con board. I found a donor which was smashed so started off replacing the main board which then made the set start flashing red. I tried changing the tuner and power board but now it only flashes red it won't even turn on anymore HELP!

Did the smashed one have the same Lcd panel ? You cant just swap boards out as the software is tied to the panel. Please Do Not PM My Page Asking For Help Badcaps Is The Place For Advise, Page Linked For Business Reasons Only. Anyone Doing So Will Be Banned Instantly !

Posting pictures of the back of your tv showing the boards with clear pictures may help you more with fixing your problemComment

by howardc64All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
- TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
- Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by delpiero3Hi everyone, newcomer in this forum, i watched tons of video from Sorin, i like the way i calmly explain things, i did quite some console repair, i am not that bad at micro-soldering, but troubleshooting where the issue is, is definitely where i still have progress to make. Usually i was able to fix the console because the failure was obvious, or because i was able to find someone with similar measures on the board and was pinpointing what to replace that way.
Nevertheless, let's say, i don't come as a total beginner.

One note these battery packs are below 10 volts and the BMS protection board has locked them off from having any voltage on the BMS output wires I have tested three of them so far and voltage is around 8 volts it not an issue because it testing about 9.2 amp hours

by huj3rHi there!
I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40Z4500 which shows a colored vertical stripes pattern when turning on, with a central black shadow that slowly dissipates within the first 10 seconds.
Photo of the situation after the black shadow dissipates:
After this behavior the red LED will blink 9 times, then pause for a bit, and blink again 9 times, in a loop.
I checked the manual (available here) and this corresponds to "HFR error", quoting from the manual:
