Vizio e322vl - no back light and no picture

The set will do the blinking orange/white on plug in and power on, but once it finishes and I hit the power button, it doesn't give a picture. I've confirmed there is an issue with the main board as I have an identical set and swapped the mainboards to get it working properly.

I've also found there is 12V missing on the F1 fuse. Voltages on a few other components and test points don't align either. I'm having trouble tracing it back to the source though. Any pointers?

    You may have EEPROM problem.
You can start checking the Voltages on all 3 pins of the Voltage regulator ICs on the main board first.
The switched 12V will not be present until the main board sends out the PS-ON signal to turn on the rest of the power supply.

I had checked them once before, but I'll go back over them.

I have yet to run into an EEPROM issue. Can they be changed out? Is it under the metal shield?

Look at the link to shopjimmy on the EEPROM, it will tell what symptom you will see when you have bad EEPROM.

Thanks for your replies Bud. Somehow it started working again. I was taking measurements on U18 and it seemed fine compared to the other set. I'll keep using the set and see how long it goes until I see problems again.

Well I looked at the symptoms in the link you posted for EEPROM. I'm getting something that doesn't match exactly with what they have. As you can see in the picture, I get power on and the backlights come on. But I also get a picture that is distorted. Maybe it's still the EEPROM?

OK, so you have backlights and it stays on?.
So are you getting 12Vdc on one of the fuse?
Your symptom does not really match the EEPROM problem.
Did you try heating and cooling the main board with hair dryer or using canned air duster upside down for cooling, especially around the EEPROM?
