    What is this?

This device is directly downstream from the main power switching transistor on a 3D projector. It reads 5 Megohms one way and 11 Megohms the other way. No capacitance..it is stopping current to the lamp.
Can anyone tell me what it is? EPCOS 800 150 are the markings on it.

    Thanks

      It's a Surge arrester.
Normally used so that big voltage surges coming in to a device gets shunted to ground.

        Re: What is this?

Surge Arrester, it should show open circuit. Are you sure you are not reading your hands/body resistance.
It is protection device and it will not stop the circuit from functioning if it is not in the circuit, if it is shorted out then it will cause problem.

            Epson EB-U42 projector / Caps with 0.7 ohms ?!
            by narf
            hi all,

first of all: i'm a (motivated) newbie, so please forgive me any stupid question i may or may not ask

i'm currently repairing a projector: Epson EB-U42 that doesn't start (no lights, nothing).

            what i've found so far:
            - the PSU does its job and supplies 12V to the mainboard via the connector.
            - shortly thereafter, there is a mosfet (TS420-600B) where i can test 12V on the one side (in the data sheet this side is called Anode), Gate 0V, Kathode shorted to ground
            - not far away, there's the first cap with a resistance of 0.7 ohms....

Sony Data Projector vplfh31 3LCD Blue missing
            by budwich
Got this projector which has a problem with a lack of blue. Menu text is very yellow... expecting white. If I input a signal from a test disc via hdmi, a red screen image shows a uniform red as expect. Green similar while the blue does show but with non-uniformity. Looked at the in-polarizers. They are all good and clean. Running the projector to expose the light area in the prism block, shows each color well represented, all looking about the same intensity from the naked eye. Looking at the prism block itself and sending a light source back into the "out port", the individual...

            EPCOS Cap Replacement
            by Wet_Cap
Hey everyone. Just wondering if anyone can help me with some capacitors that blew on a VFD. Caps are EPCOS B43501-S3277-M1, 270uF, 385V, three pin. Markings on capacitors are as follows.
            EPCOS
            B43501-S3277-M1
            270uF (M)
            385V 40/085/56
            10.10 S3

Tried looking on Epcos website which takes me to TDK. Tried searching with no luck for specs on cap. I just want to find all the information I need to replace these caps. Any help greatly appreciated.
